Re: Pajek
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 10:00 AMIt's a network analysis and visualization software tool, developed in Slovenia, I think. It seems to have capabilities that I have only begun to tap. The documentation is a bit cryptic. Wondering if there are others who have tried it. You can find it on a google search. -

Re: Pajek
Tue, April 12, 2005 - 1:31 PMno kidding about cryptic. do you understand the file format? i downloaded a spreadsheet converter and it seems to create a file with a list of vertices and a list of edges. i'm still trying to figure out what the columns mean.
if i knew what those columns mapped to... i've been going through their documentation and am not finding this key piece of info... any insights?
gracias :)

Re: Pajek
Tue, April 12, 2005 - 2:55 PMI have a python scripts that takes a list of pairs of vertices and turns them into pajek format. Then you can edit it by hand to add colors, etc. Let me know if you want it. -

Re: Pajek
Tue, April 12, 2005 - 3:05 PMYeah, I figured it out from the website. Somewhere in there there's a cryptic description of the file format.
Maybe if you download the docs, they might have something different in them? -

Re: Pajek
Thu, April 21, 2005 - 12:18 PMwow,
I just downloaded Pajek and can't wait to figure it out, but on the way to this endeveor, I had to look at prefuse which looks pretty cool, but then I spied Piccolo, and man did the lights go on! Has anyone checked this out? It sports a zoomable user interface(ZUI) and how totally cool. I see all kinds of possibilities for this.
Thanks everyone for the info.
Gilton
For anyone interested, Piccolo is at the bottom of the Prefuse website.
