I found a listing of all rising signs and am posting the capricorn portion to see what members here think.
Capricorn Rising
Male
Having Capricorn rising almost guarantees success. No matter how many obstacles stand in his way, no matter how far down the ladder he begins, his achievements will lead to plenty of money in the bank. Money is important to this man, not just for the power it brings, but for the freedom it allows. He won't rest until he feels safe, and to feel secure, he must have a hefty bank account. Sometimes Capricorn rising can go too far in his need for acquisition and become quite ruthless.
Having said that, he is very responsible, intelligent and sociable. He excels in business meetings and can be quite an investor. In a relationship he wants someone more relaxed than he is, someone that can help him loosen up when he is at home. He often finds himself with a woman of less intelligence and standing in society--he likes to help her improve. If she's willing to rise to his standards and expectations, she will do well.
Together they can build up a wonderfully large nest egg that he will enjoy spending on her (and himself) when he retires. He has a hard time expressing his emotions. This is because he is quite sure he lacks the vitality of the people around him. This isn't necessarily true, and the woman that can help him gradually release his emotions will find a warm man underneath the frost.
He may have more than one marriage--in his youth he had a harder time controlling his hearty sexual appetite and, of course, with his strict attitude, he believed that sex equaled everlasting love. Once he does meet the 'right' one, he will be faithful and committed to their relationship. Despite appearances, Capricorn rising often has some kinky surprises waiting for his partner.
Female
This woman needs to feel secure. Like her male counterpart, she seeks safety in numbers--bills, that is. She will not rest until she has a stash of money in the bank, a few solid investments, and a home to call her own. She won't necessarily depend on a man to provide her with security, as she is willing to work hard herself. But, when she does find a man she can approve of, he must not come into the relationship as a liability.
She won't support a man. She has magnificent self-control and can come across as cold and unloving--underneath the fa çade she is full of anxiety. Capricorn rising won't admit to this, though. She is very slow to commit, always wanting to be completely sure that she is doing the right thing. Capricorn rising does not like shallow or flighty men; she wants depth and expects it. If you can't give her what she needs--ie, money, honesty, a solid social standing- -don't bother trying.
She may have a fling with you, but she won't marry you. Sexually, she can be quite inhibited as she tends to repress her sexuality and expend the energy in her climb to the top. If this rising has strong Scorpio in the chart, she will be quite the opposite--very sexual and demanding and open to experimentation in the bedroom. The Scorpio tends to release the Capricorn inhibition. The Capricorn rising woman will succeed, either through her mate, or on her own. She may even use her sexuality to help her get there.

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Sat, May 7, 2005 - 8:29 AMHmm...I have never really resonated with my cap rising. I have poor money handling skills, I am extremely independant and I won't settle for anything less than what I want. Which I would say that part is Cap. But other than that I do not get it. I'm very passionate, and all over the place. I do want someone who is stable and responsible. But that is because I am not LOL. Well, really I strive to be. But I think with the Gemini moon that I have, it can make it difficult. And my leo sun can make me very lazy.

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Sat, May 7, 2005 - 5:36 PMI'd say mostly true for me except the part about being inhibited. I don't have strong scorpio in my chart, but I am completely uninhibited! No repression here!! -

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Thu, May 19, 2005 - 10:36 AMWhile I do think that money is an important tool (like technology) I don't really like the idea that females with cap rising are always after men with money. I'll make my own, thank you. -

Exactly!! What's up with that! How can you say that you are independant and then say you are going after someone else for what they have?? Makes no sense. -

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Thu, May 19, 2005 - 5:00 PMStrangely enough I think you are both confirming the female cap rising perspective as I understand it, although I can see how it is open to interpretation, but I don't think the emphasis is on money in and of itself with cap. it's on social structure and identification. With that comes financial security because capricorn is integral to big stuff, big organisations, institutions. What I see this astrologer as saying is that the female cap rising doesn't want to be seriously involved with a man who interferes with that, but will involve herself with a man who compliments, or augments that. This you sort of, more or less both confirm.
In other words Cap rising females generally speaking want and expect financial stability and seek out human, social environments that support that. -

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Tue, August 29, 2006 - 7:33 PMInteresting that most of us Capricorn risings have kinky Uranus ruling our 2nd house of money! 2nd house concerns money, yes, but also values, talents, possessions, self-worth; all those things we have "in our pockets"! Finding Uranus in a chart will give a better idea where the money will come from if there are no planets in the 2nd house.
I don't think that all Capricorn risings are particularly interested in money so much as being the best and top of our field of endeavor unless money (itself) is what we aspire to. I never have, but then I have Uranus in the 4th. Bet you know what THAT means!

The First House
Your Personality and Physical Traits (The Rising Sign or the Ascendant)
This first house is the "house of the self "as it deals with the physical person. The Rising sign/Ascendant is a filter lens through which the Sun, the Moon, and the planets come into play. The Ascendant distinguishes the different variables in disposition, temperament and even physical appearances in persons born on the same day, but at different times. Your Ascendant denotes the way you look at life. Often, it's the impression of "you" perceived by those around you.
Capricorn
Capricorn on the rise produces a personality that is serious, prudent and patient. Saturn rules Capricorn, and becomes the ruling planet in your chart. The Saturn influence suggests the most responsible type of personality, and gives a "never say die" approach to life that is the essence of your nature.
The Capricorn Ascendant also gives a reserve and a restraint that can make you seem very austere and even melancholy. You appear critical and cold because of an ethical and righteous attitude that duty must be done. This is a complex sign.
You seem aloof and remote, yet an elegant quality may conceal an inherent shyness. You are somewhat timid, and you may even suffer from feelings of inadequacy, especially in the early years of your life. Very straight-laced and proper behavior is sometimes a facade hiding a sense of insecurity or of feelings that you are unwanted or unappreciated.
You may be somewhat a workaholic and expect those around you to share such dedication to duty. You can be judgmental of others on a variety of issues. This often strains personal relationships. Because you're such a perfectionist with your work, you procrastinate a great deal. You are conservative in your actions and habits, and will remain this way even if you accumulate considerable wealth.
Usually, Capricorn on the rise produces an ambitious person. Yet you have more concern with your degree of prestige and status, than with the amount of money that achieving your goals may eventually bring. You seem very serious and old before your time while you are in your youth; even as a child, you are likely to be very self-sufficient. Sometimes responsibility is assumed at an early age.
Like the Capricorn symbol, the Mountain Goat, you climb to the top in a very slow, sure-footed way, always staying on solid ground and taking your sweet time about it. There is much stability in your makeup and you rarely become discouraged, even when you are faced with frequent setbacks and roadblocks. The combination of your superior organizing ability and overwhelming determination assures your eventual, if sometimes delayed, success.

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Mon, April 13, 2009 - 12:03 AMI fully agreed with all the points mentioned and experienced it in my life so far. One thing I wants to know... why we are not able to make good friends, is it because of our nature or our attitute? -

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Sat, September 2, 2006 - 10:15 PMthe only cap rising trait that i 'resonate' with so to speak is the fact that i am intensely fixed on the wellbeing of others... or rather, i get worried about if everyone has everything, i have a need to take care of everyone... that i love, at least... -

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Mon, September 18, 2006 - 8:35 PMHmm. I figure I'll add my own hot air to the mix :)
Cap Asc/Cap Moon (<1 degree seperation from Sag)/Taurus Sun
Insofar as how my Cap Asc relates to life thus far, I'd say that it has become glaringly obvious to me after studying some astrology.
The achievement or success against all odds I can see, even if my own position isn't comparable to, say, CEO or President or some such.
Money being important is an interesting discussion, as I hold no value for it outside of it's use as a tool and neccessary evil for survival in this world we find ourselves. Most often I don't even spend it unless required (the Cap tendency to not be wasteful perhaps?). Any mullah I don't absolve myself of is immediately turned back around into some form of savings or investment. So, yes, I suppose the shoe fits to some degree. I'd definitely say it comes from a need to know that 'I got my own back' if need be. Needless to say, 'rough times' aren't likely to phase me or catch me unprepared.
Can not comment on the relationship thing myself. Despite what thought the topic has been given in and of myself, that part of lifes experience is not a realistic option for me as of yet. However, given how insightful and overwhelmingly true my own astrology has been for me to a point, I'd say I'll likely fit that glove as well. Who knows?
About the expressiveness of emotion issue? True. I've no trouble whatsoever, however, doing so through my writings. But more than simply having a hard time doing so, which I believe is a self-enforced practice due more to lack of trust for others than anything else, I think I make it a point NOT to do so. More often than not I find that I use my Cap aspects in my daily 'business' or 'official' vocational capacity. Part of that means, to me, remaining aloof of sorts from emotional issues in the workspace as it is. That's not to say I don't show that I care, but I definitely refuse to get all touchy feely with it like my Taurus tendancies are pawing ruts in the ground to do! I'm told I come across as very serious, straight to the point, and practical about getting things done; intensely so at times (usually when I perceive anything going against the grain of completing what needs completing I'm sure).
In the end, I know that what I do on a daily basis is based in a sort of selfish unselfishness. I feel best and most accomplished when I can raise others up from the mires and place them upon the victors pedastool. I'm flushed with pride at seeing another that I've helped rise above myself when they were once placed below my own position. Not the best for advancement to be sure, but that's not my goal nor my motivation...though it doesn't hurt to throw me a scoobie snack every now and then :)
Enough rambling though..... -

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Sat, April 21, 2007 - 7:39 AMThis all sounds accurate to me. Scorpio's influence definitely realeases my Cap rising inhibition. I have Mars in Scorpio, 22 deg in the 10th house, and Pluto in Scorpio in the 10th as well... I read somewhere that having a planet at 22 degrees in a fixed sign like scorpio, "that planet is emphasized and assumes more power in the life of the native due to its placement.."

Re: Characteristics of Capricorn Rising
Wed, May 28, 2008 - 9:05 PMHaha I think the bedroom part most likely goes with me hahhahahaa. Only cause my scorpio sun brings that out :]
Except the "She may even use her sexuality to help her get there."
I have self respect sheesh. -
