Mon, December 8, 2003 - 3:33 PMI found Xanadu an incredibly dramatic and emotionally exhausting film, up there with Dancer in the Dark certainly. When Olivia's eyes get all puffy while she sings "Suspended in Time", that's it for me. -

Mon, December 8, 2003 - 3:36 PMI guess that is true, I personally think the scene when Sonny Malone skates down the street and looks at her billboard was heart wrenching...especially the close ups, nostrils flaring, etc. Damn I loved those red shorts too.....But Danny (Gene) seemed so happy in that film... -

Mon, December 8, 2003 - 3:43 PMYou have to boil it down to the subtext - Gene Kelly's character was a coil just waiting to spring. You could tell when he was sitting on that rock playing clarinet at the beginning - it was like the end of Apocalypse Now, if you think about it. -

Mon, December 8, 2003 - 5:09 PMI wish Cliff Richards had played a more prominent role. You know, kinda like Brando.
