Since the obvious answer would be where the two cultures form together... I'll go out on a limb and say the skating scene with Gene Kelly as they open Xanadu. HO!

Sun, November 9, 2003 - 5:53 PMDancin' is the bestestest song in the movie, but I like that part at the end where Livvy puts on a little fashion show and does the cowgirl song and then gets all painted up like a whore and sings that "I guess I won't be needin' any love for a while, whoo-HOO" song. And of course, there's "All Over the World" where Gene Kelly is dressed like a pimp and he gets trapped in a pinball machine with a bunch of drag queens.
Oh to hell with it, I love them all.

Tue, May 17, 2005 - 9:55 AMThis is a tough one for me to answer, because the Xanadu soundtrack was the first album I ever bought--when I was 6 years old. I played it over and over again with those giant headphones on that barely fit my little head, and I carried the liner notes around until I knew every lyric and songwriting credit by heart. I like just about the whole album, but "Magic" "Dancin'" and "I'm Alive" are closest to my heart. Not necessarily in that order.

Fri, September 30, 2005 - 5:02 PMI have to agree with Dawn that "Drum Dreams" is my favorite song from the movie. I love the electro frenetic bassline and the chants of "Xanadu!". It wasn't on the soundtrack but it's on the B-side to two of the 45 records. I burned it to my hard drive so I can listen to it all the time.
Second favorite would have to be "All Over The World", but I'm partial to the freaky fashion scene it's connected to....
I also love "Dancin'" and remember it was my favorite scene when I saw Xanadu in the theater as a kid (with my grandma who totally hated it!), and when I would rollerskate around the basement I would play "I'm Alive" and run into the walls on purpose hoping I would get to Mount Olympus....
But the soundtrack is really amazing. Although I could never get into "Whenever You're Away From Me"....
