Keurig

At my new office, we have a Keurig Machine. It brews Coffee and Tea from these little cups. While I enjoy the simplicity and ease of getting my coffee fix on, I miss the aroma and routine of making a cup of coffee. There's something about brewing the coffee...

Has anyone else used one of these machines yet?

  • Off Topic -- a system that has aroma

I tried a K-cup. It was alright. Not the best, and it is easy to make with little fuss.
If you want aroma, you might look into E.S.E. pods. They come in paper and go in pump driven machines for espresso.
An feature of K-cups and of E.S.E. pods is the hermetic packaging. I don't know about Senseo. In the local grocery, E.s.e. pods are now about $.70 each, and they have at least a year of shelf life, sealed. I do not emphasize freshness in my caffeine system. E.s.e coffee tastes wonderful to me. It helps me to manage the substance by having a pre measured amount. Before pods, I felt myself always running to the grinder and losing track. Do you know what I mean?
E.s.e. pods are biodegradable, and the Illy packaging can go into recycling which is an added plus.
I didn't mean to go off topic. I think K- cup is a great way to start with a pre measured system, and machines seem inexpensive.
