well, I am honored to have been featured in this wonderful magazine! overall, John Clow did a good job with the article!
I do want to clear up a couple things, though- first, it was when I was taking classes from a teacher with a Cabaret focus where I constantly thought 'this isn't me' and changed or just omitted things stylistically. I loved taking folkloric/Turkish classes from Amie and felt quite at home. second, while we did discuss the fact that I had to turn down some really cool international workshop offers, we also discussed how transformed I feel as a dancer as a result of being a mother. I feel like I can tap into my creativity even deeper, let go more easily on stage and connect more spiritually. I was saddened that that part didn't get printed and worried because it got left out that it sounded like I was resentful and burdened by the change that motherhood brought to my dance life. this is _not_ the case at all and hope that my son will read the notes I make in the margin of the article. (thank for that idea Kali!)
