what is your intention Sizzle? Do you have censorship in mind? I don't think that anyone here wants this. Why don't you either present a reasoned argument for evolution or run along and play with the crazies on hd.

Not hardly Joe. You should have at least a high school education and have passed biology.

The point is that the only reason "sizzle" wants a moderator is so he can boot me. He doesn't even post here and I have been here for 3 years posting with and without moderators. We do not need a moderator, either myself, you, or anyone else. I happend to be the only person on this tribe who holds to a YEC position. What would be the point in booting me?

So far this tribe has been "mostly civil" with no moderator. Really, if I thought it was a problem, I would just unsubscribe. It's an obscure tribe with very little traffic.

Either way, I don't see why Dan should be banned in any case. Totally unmoderated, he has not descended into direct name calling and threats or obstructive trolling behavior. Also, he is the only regularly posting creationist. There is an evolution-only tribe already for non-creation discussions.

Considering the contentious nature of the subject matter, everyone has been surprisingly civil. Mostly.

I do not respect your incomprehensible beliefs, but I will fight to defend your right to express them.

When they came for the creationists...

I'm not sure what tribe policy is for un moderated tribes so if we can exist un moderated its OK with me.

If however we need a moderator I am up for it. As far as booting someone I have a high tolerance for snarkieness but there are times some posts might need deleting (not directed at Dan in particular ) for being rude or just plane mean.

There you have it - do as you will.

I think the problem with a moderator on this tribe is that they appear to have the high ground in the debate. This was the case with the last moderator. She seldom participated but routinely criticised me and no one else. I left the tribe because of her. If it becomes moderated I will leave again and start my own Creation/evolution tribe. But I agree with Grim that there is no need for this. Sizzle is just attempting to stir up trouble for me because he cannot bear to live with those who easily refute the nonsense he offers.

thank you Joe, for stepping forward,

FYI: I'm ignoring the Dandy and his sockpuppets futile attempts of instigating an argument and belittling insults thrown directly at me...,

So i nominate JOE for New moderator...

          Is there a second?

This tribe was started by "Nexxus" who I believe was a good moderator. She left the tribe when she became a new mother and had better things to do. The tribe languished after she left, although it was never a hopping place... it seems it was just me arguing with Dan for a long, long time. There are a few more people contributing now, but I have not seen any problems, so I am not sure why we need a moderator. My experience has been that new moderators seem to fall prey to the power syndrome and end up causing more harm than good. I would vote to not have a moderator, or alternately I nominate myself and promise to let people do what they will, unless things really get out of hand and lots of bad feelings are being aroused in which case I point out their bad behavior to the best of my ability and that would be about it. I don't think banning people makes much sense.
