No more Pail Pals?

WTF? I need to order some diaper pail deodorizers and they smelled SOOO good and were compostable!!

So, now that those are no more (unless you have a secret source, please point me that way), what do you all use? Not chemically smelling.

i don't think they even work that well, but i out of desperation and pure laziness, i just bought a two pack of stick ups. *hangs head in shame* ... i was thinking of just throwing a box of baking soda in the can, though.

in the sack i use for the cloth diapers there is a terry cloth tab that i drop essential oil onto -- usually lavender but sometimes eucalyptus. i could probably douse some on a terry scrap and toss that into the bottom of the diaper champ, too.

The only thing like that i've tried is a lil teatree essencial (sp?) oil. just a few drops.

I've been washing all the poops diapes in the toilet asap, so only pee and lil poops goes into the pail.....

tee tea oil can be totally caustic, fyi. So I think you'd have to extra extra extra rinse with that method.

I use a dry pail too, but the ammonia smell from the pee. OH MAN! I try my damndest to only do dipes every three or four days now that I'm working full time.

I did the Lavender / tea tree on a spongee thing and put it in the top of the pail in the "deodorizer slot", but nothing seems to keep that de-peer ability like the pail pals.

      grrr.

I'm sorry, let me rephrase... cineole (an ingredient in tea tree oil) is caustic, but only if it's concentration is higher than 15% in the oil itself. If you buy good quality tea tree, it shouldn't be a concern because the density of the cineole won't be higher than 15%.

yeah- having an allergic or irritating skin reaction to straight tea tree oil is really common. Google "teat tree oil" and "atopic dermatitis". *BUT* it's only with the straight oil. No one's ever reported a bad reaction when it's been mixed into an oil base, or anything to dilute it.
