person needs strong technology, communications, business development and writing skills. Because of funder deadlines, we have a very short
timeline for applications (aka, immediately); if you happen to know
anyone who might be interested and qualified, please have them contact
the Lifecycles Director at the email address below.

Thanks for your help!

CED Communication and Technologies Coordinator Position

The CED Communication and Learning Technologies Coordinator will support
the community economic development work of the organization through
working in the GroundWorks Learning Center. The intern will use a back
ground and interest in computer and web based technology and
communications to support and grow specific individuals social ventures,
broader social/environmental community initiatives (such as the regional
Green Map or Fruit Tree Project), as well as working with LifeCycles to
build our capacity to use web based technologies to better share our CED
work, and our resources to those interested in community enterprise
development.

They will:
* Support LifeCycles to better communicate the work we do and
resources we have at different levels to support community economic
development. This would include a communications framework for getting
the word out about success stories that inspire and provide learning to
others, as well as provide information about learning opportunities and
access to resources that support community enterprise development.

* Work with youth developing community businesses in our youth
community entrepreneur program and Business is Growing (the majority of
who are youth at risk working on green, health and healing arts, food
and agriculture, and artistic and culture related business) with their
business plan development process. They will do this through providing
technical support on internet and web based research to support their
social venture development, supporting them to use the learning center's
computers and software to develop their business in particularly in the
areas of communications about their business concepts and development of
marketing and materials.

* The participant would also have the opportunity to learn about
and participate in work around our web based community development and
learning tools such as the Victoria Green Map and Neighborhood Map
development as well as our Food Miles Calculator and Good Food Directory
depending on the focus of their interest.

This work experience will expose the CED practitioner to a wide range of
individual and community initiatives and allow them to utilize specific
skills in a field of work that is in growing demand. Generally in the
social ventures we support and also and perhaps more commonly in the
individual social businesses there is a lack of knowledge and skills in
the areas of computer literacy, design as well as communications and
marketing.
