EDEN - 2007 Update [Thank You for 2006!!!]

A huge thank you to all those who attended Eden's 1 year Anniversary, and any of our past Eden events. Every Eden has always been a unique, special experience filled with the fondest of memories.

We've had the best of times at our Eden gatherings, seen a wide range of talented DJ’s & artists, and always strived to create an experience above par. Its the attendees who choose to participate that have really made this experience so special, since our community is overflowing with such quality talents. I feel blessed to know such a colorful group of beautiful souls, and I am truly honored to call you my friends. There is a lot of light and goodness in all your hearts, and I genuinely appreciate the gift of knowing all of you how I’ve gotten to.

I have pictures from all the Edens, which when I have the chance to update the site(s) will be posted - both my websites are getting a full revamp projected in early 2007. In the meantime I'll be creating a 'Turntable-Evangelism' tribe to fully discuss our events

Eden was the beginning of ‘Turntable-Evangelism’, and we have expanded since our first event Oct 29th 2005 at a rapid rate of unexpected growth – its really been such a Positive year!!! Our roots will always lie in the Burning Man community and those principles, regardless of where it leads me on my journey in life through this world. Just as seeds of amazement and wonder have been planted in me and grown, I can only hope to share this inspiration with others when we can all gather and share a common focus (such as Burn Night shared by 35,000+ people or even our humble Eden events). My heart will always yearn for the Playa and feel at home in Black Rock City. Fortunately there's quite a bit of excitement brewing locally in our other home of Southern California to keep things interesting until August when we can make the sojourn home. We have recently expanded our DJ roster with some wonderful and uniquely talented individuals who have gotten involved and joined our family. I will be focusing a lot more on Turntable-Evangelism in 2007, particularly promoting our artists who I stand behind & believe in wholeheartedly. Its come time to dedicate myself fully to this project alongside my DJ’ing career. We have some incredible events being planned beyond Eden, join the Turntable-Evangelism tribe and stay tuned for the full details!

Eden will return again...
the date is yet to be determined, I will make sure there is plenty of time to plan in advance to mark your calendars and (hopefully) ensure it doesn't conflict with other events. If you have any honest feedback about what we’ve done, please let us know it is genuinely appreciated.

Eden 2007: What would you like to experience?

We do these parties for you, it is our gift to the community. Although ‘Eden’ is the tie to link these gatherings together, we have always strived to keep every event fresh - with a different theme and specific combination of art, performance art, and musical talent ensure we create something unique and memorable every time. Eden was Turntable-Evangelism’s first event, and was inspired from my first Burning Man experience. We wanted to create something different from what else was being offered in our local community.

Our intent had a few reasons behind it: We wanted a place for Burners to congregate locally between our few larger regional events like Xara and the Decom at an easily accessible middle-ground. This allows the opportunity to express ourselves and keep that torch burning until our 'New Year' when the Man Burns (making sure the dust never settles so to speak). Also, it provides a comfortable opportunity for Non-Burner friends to easily experience a taste of the color and magic that we get to participate every year on the Playa.

Eden has always been about creating a participatory experience and filling a unique niche where we saw one lacking – I really wanted to create something Beautiful through Eden. It has well surpassed anything my imagination could have dreamed, and if I never threw another party in my life I'd still be satisfied with these 'dreams come true'. I’ve lost money on some of the nights, broken even on others - regardless the outcome it was worth every penny for such priceless memories and comradery. Eden has never been about the money. Everyone seems to have had a wonderful time which is my priority first and foremost as the host.

I wish we didn't have to ask any cover charge but its the only way to maintain the event at this particular venue, and $5 is really nominal anyways although we advertise $10 at the door for people who aren’t invited from within our circle or use the password 'Eden'. (Note: we'd never turn anyone down if they couldn't afford it). If money was an issure, don’t forget our nights at Kadan never have a cover charge.

From the feedback I’ve heard, people seem to like the Hole and its always fit like a glove for Eden. The venue lends itself to the event and artististic expression, $2 beers, BBQ, and the garden patio is also a nice touch.

As far as creating a new experience, please give honest feedback on what else you would like to see. We will do another Eden party, I already have a few ideas on the direction it will go but nothing is set in stone. We need your input to materialize this into a reality. The date will be open still, and I will plan it well in advance so as hopefully not to conflict with any other events or as little as possible (particularly Burner Events.)

Any suggestions on DJ’s/Music, Performance Artists/Design Artists, venue, or anything else on your mind that can help constructively is very much appreciated. We do this for the Love of a good party and our service to the Burning Man Community, and strive to always challenge ourselves and those who follow our events at every opportunity that is presented.

EDEN: One Year Anniversary! Sat October 28th 2006!!!

Yes you read correctly!!! We've missed our Eden gatherings incredibly these past few months. Some of my fondest memories were shared with our wonderful family of friends in our mystical garden temple tucked away hidden in the strangest of places you’d think (The Hole, Point Loma).

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS YEAR SO POSITIVE!!!

Eden was originally inspired from my first Burning Man, and quickly became a way to share this inspiration with those who may never have the chance to get a taste of this otherwise. Also as a place for those who are of this tribe we call ‘Burner’ to gather comfortably outside of BRC and connect in the other world. Enough factors have come together to set Eden in motion once again (oddly enough right after my second Burn). The people have spoken, and at this point I can't say no - Eden is rising from the ashes once again! Believe me, it would be so much easier and stress free rather than coordinating these events to pass and just focus on my DJ'ing/Residencies & Music Production. However, I do this as my gift and thanks to the community, not for financial gain or other glories. It wouldn't be possible without the inspired beauty and awe from witnessing the Burning of the Man - he truly was magnificent this year, just like all the participants are who congregated on the playa to share in creating the experience. For this I am grateful and desire to share this gift of light.

That being said, we bring you the One Year Anniversary for Eden and our Turntable-Evangelism events. Catch up with old friends and make new ones in the relaxing Garden Paradise of ‘Eden’ after decompressing from the Burn.

Full details will be posted soon, so mark those calendars and start spreading the word!
Expect Classic Eden Magic in our Mystical Temple Garden, full of art, music, light, positive creative energy, and shared inspiration. Iain Gunn brings his Visionary Psychedelic Masterpieces set to a black light garden, music provided by Jack Tripper and special guest DJ’s (full lineup tba soon!) Also, as a special gift back (and since we really don't care about the money we do this for the love of a good party), it will be free before 9pm! We’re planning a free potluck from 7-9pm so come have dinner with us and share good food & good vibes to start the evening off right. After 9pm just $5 cover if you mention “Eden” at the entrance when you arrive – we only ask this to help maintain the expenses of producing this event. We have some special surprises in store including most “Playalicious” costume prizes. Bring your glow poi, flags, and hoops for the spin jam. As always, $2 beers & $4 pitchers all night from the bar, and BBQ on the patio! Don't miss this special event, you never know the next time we'll have another Eden! ;)

Twisted D.U.O. (located in Las Vegas, NV) is looking for original video footage to be featured in our next multimedia promotional presentation!!! The soundtrack will be about 60 minutes of full-on and hard psychedelic trance loaded with tons of crazy samples and driven guitar riffs. Cirque du Loup: Thank You!

I'd like to 'Thank You' all for the support and for making our events so friggin' amazing!!!

Cirque du Loup was incredible, and the perfect way to kick off our trip to Mexico a week later. Technomania's flea circus antics, swordswallowing, accordian playing, blacklight puppetry and illusions all seemed well received and added that extra touch of magic and mystery to the evenings festivities, the grill was mouthwatering, and the DJ's all took no prisoners it was one of the most rewarding events Turntable Evangelism has created.

Pictures will be posted soon, and if you have any please contact me I could use more from the night!

We're planning a trip back to 'Eden' on Friday March 24th with Iain Gunn as our artist and killer DJ's including the SD legend Channel Surfer of Fire Tribe Entertainment.
Then on Saturday April 1st will be 'Foolsfest', when the fools come out and play. Full lineups to follow shortly so mark those calendars! Both these events will be at The Hole.

And if you need that "Tripper-fix" you can always swing by Air Conditioned Mondays through Wednesdays 5:30-9pm to catch me DJ'ing happy hour (no cover half off on drinks yeah!)

Eden is our Magical Garden Temple full of Ancient Wisdom and Beauty - inspired from the Love, Joy, Art and Friendships forged during Burning Man, Xara, Decoms, and from our local community of Burners (our extended family).

I'd like to welcome you all to this Tribe called "Eden". Here we can discuss upcoming gatherings, post pictures, network, and share our experiences. Honest constructive feedback is highly appreciated.

These are Burning Man themed parties so all our SoCali Burner friends can have a place to gather and reunite monthly when we're missing being together at home on the Playa. Also to help satisfy your PlayaLust - Playawear and colorful creative self-expression are highly encouraged!
We want you to walk away with a unique experience and smile on your face everytime you attend a Turntable Evangelism party. We are currently doing these events monthly at The Hole in Point Loma, and host Eden every other month with rotating themed parties between.

Eden has been a most rewarding experience and is already is growing beyond my wildest dreams - I'm very excited about the direction it will be going in the future. Its great to have a place we can hang out with our friends surrounded by our favorite DJ's & artists, and have some good drinks, good food, and good times that won't burn a hole in your wallet.

Thanks Tripper for inviting me here...

Some of you may remember me from when I lived in San Diego... I'm still around... Been working on alot of production these days with occassional gigs from time-to-time... Been really selective these days on that sort of thing... Anyway, Eden (and the people involved) seem like an awesome and creative bunch... Hope to come back down to SD someday and meet some of you...
