We are heading out of town for Thanksgiving and as some of you know, we have been exercising like maniacs (aaron more than I) for the last couple months and have done nothing but gain weight. WTF? Certainly, there are muscles where there were no muscles before, but there is no change in clothes size and the numbers on the scale are, in fact, higher than when we started. If I said I was horribly demoralized, that would be an understatement.

This is my new scheme.

I am pretending that I am shooting a movie in four weeks and as part of this movie, I have a 20 minute fighting / action sequence in my underwear. I must therefore remain motivated so I will not be horrified when I see myself on film. I am also considering other requirements for this role, such as specific hair cuts, etc. There's a chance I may even believe this by the end, so don't rain on my parade.

Since the hitching post has become my source for information about all things marriage/couple-related, I have a question. Or two.

Last night we went to a birthday dinner for one of Roommate's close friends. It was us two guys and eleven "power lesbians" (as Roommate referred to them -- and you might have reconsidered the $100 offer with most of them, edubs, and probably would have even settled for $50 for three of them). Four of the lovely ladies were coupled up, and we got to talking about what they called each other. Wife was out of the question, and partner is too dull sounding. Girlfriend sounded too high school. I suggested they just call each other PermaFiancees or perhaps teammates. What's a good term for coupled lesbians?

And then I axed one of them if she was there stag, and that lead to a brief discussion about "stag" being a term for men only, since it's a male deer or whatever, and you have "stag parties" and stuff. One of the ladies said that she liked that I co-opted a male term and made it gender neutral. So my other question, can women "go stag"?

I'm a big fan of Bones and Moo. If you see cows, you say "I got moo" and you get a point. See a graveyard and say "I got bones." Do that, and everyone else loses all of their moo points. It's a nice game because you don't have to really think about it the whole time you are playing. It can take a back seat to whatever else you are doing and pop back up when you see something.

Today, we invented iPod hostage. It's listening to our iPod on shuffle for a set period of time with no skipping. Crappy podcast comes on? You have to listen. Some song you've never heard that you don't know where it originated? Enjoy it. And turning down the volume is cheating.

i took a nap this afternoon and got my ass whipped by edub in some crazy bicycle riding. in traffic. with bikes that had handlebars waaaay up in the air.

edub was concerned about her daughter, saying that her daughter needed accessories that were smaller. edub had already given her a smaller bicycle. (the bigger one, a hand-me-down from edub herself, was too heavy - hard to pedal. that's the one i got to ride.) she pointed out that the watch her daughter's wearing is clearly too big. she needs something more...hedgehog size. (as in the size a hedgehog would wear.) that would suit her better.

I've discovered after careful trial and error that I can no longer eat jalapeno chips because they...get this...give me heartburn. WTF??? Let us commence a journey into the much travelled topic of EDubya. Advancments in EDubya can be linked to many areas. Though EDubya is a favourite topic of discussion amongst monarchs, presidents and dictators, it is impossible to overestimate its impact on modern thought. It still has the power to shock those most reliant on technology, many of whom blame the influence of television. Though I would rather be in bed I will now examine the primary causes of EDubya.

SOCIAL FACTORS
Society begins and ends with EDubya. When Lance Bandaner said 'twelve times I've traversed the ocean of youthful ambition but society still collects my foot prints' [1] he could have been making a reference to EDubya, but probably not. While the western world use a knife and fork, the Chinese use chopsticks. Of course EDubya is crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle.

Some analysts have been tempted to disregard EDubya. I haven�t. To put it simply, people like EDubya.

ECONOMIC FACTORS
Economics has been defined as 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine.' To my learned ear that sounds like two people with itchy backs. We will primarily be focusing on the Greek-Roman model using the median instead of the mean, where possible.

Clearly the graphs demonstrates a strong correlation. Why is this? Obviously transport costs, ultimately decided by politicians, will always be heavily influenced by EDubya due to its consistently high profile in the portfolio of investors. In the light of this free trade must be examined.

Modern politics owes much to the animal kingdom. Contrasting the numerous political activists campaigning for the interests of EDubya can be like looking at EDubya now, and its equivalent in the 1800s.

Let us consider the words of that silver tongued orator, style icon Elijah Tuigamala 'Man's greatest enemy is complacency with regards to personal and political hygiene.' [2] Primarily, he is referring to EDubya. If our political system can be seen as a cake, then EDubya makes a good case for being the icing.

Last night, we were teaching the monkeys to play Texas Hold em (as you do) and at one point, Medium gets all excited and throws her arms out with glee.

Her tiny fist went straight into my eye.

It killed. It still kills. My entire eye socket is sore and there is a puffy sty looking thing under the bottom lashes. That's the problem. It looks like a sty, not a black eye. If you are going to go through the misery, you should at least be able to walk around looking like one of the little rascals for a couple days.

Edubya and I hadn't been dating very long and we were volunteering at the American Cancer Society's Walk for Life. We were helping kids decorate bags to be used as luminarias. We had a bunch of clothespins around so they could hang up to dry.

During a slow part of the day I'm just milling around and see the bag of remaining clothespins. Without thinking I say, "I wonder how many of these you could stick on your face." Before I even finished the sentence, Edub had started collecting them in a pile and putting them on her face. I couldn't believe it.

I knew right then and there I was sunk. Best playmate ever.

The Spirit of America Contest - Dares and Wagers - The Beginning

So....a couple years ago, a competition was hatched. Two alts were to be created. They had to be similar in most respects, in that they had to be of the same sex and similar "vibe", if you will. The contest was to see who could befriend one person in every state first. You could ONLY befriend one person in each state, which added a tricky dimension in that you were a friend whore, yet turned down invitations left and right, and people from states you still needed might consider you a jackass and refuse your invitation. Another rule was a three pm limit for each target. If you couldn't accomplish friending within three emails, you were done. Also, there was a universal three pm limit, so no awkward "attachments" could happen. (This was key, given the nature of the alts themselves.)

This was the first wager, The Spirit of America Contest.

Oh...and I won.

My parents are (supposedly) getting ready to sell their house, so they are going through the reams of crap they have stowed away in there.

Today my mom presented me with: Several cards I made for she and my father, a report on Lyndon Johnson I did when I was 14, an (oh so familiarly styled) essay I wrote in high school about the unfortunate appearance of a rattlesnake in our yard, some horrible photos of me including some which (no surprise to Aaron) make me look like a 12 year old boy. There was also a smattering of report cards from high school, junior high and fifth grade.

Here's the common thread, "While I certainly can not find fault in her achievement, Emily needs to concentrate more and try harder."

Just what the hell does that mean anyway? She couldn't fault my achievement, but If I tried harder....what?.....I wouldn't be a fifth grader anymore????
