I think this is Hoda Sultan...But then it could this Lebanese singer who looks like her. I have sent the info through. We'll have the answers soon. :-)

No, not Hoda Sultan (her nose is too big.) I'm surprised she did not come up on the credit list you submitted. She must be listed in the very very opening credits after Taheyia Karioka and ismail Yaseen. Can you send those?

Hi, Shira: I just read over your lists that were not featured. The Fourth Screne is says "First Appearance: Mawaheb". Well, the singer is probably Mawaheb as I have never seen this singer before and the Fourth Screne says "First Appearnace: Mawaheb."

there are two films carry the similar last name
- al naab al amm [1946] starring : zaki rostom - hussien riad- abbas fares
the three names tells for sure that this is a very dramatic film
- al mufatsh al amm [ 1956] starring : tahia karioka - ismail yassin & mawaheb
looks less dramatic with ismail yassin presence ,though i did not see both ..
