Re: Going to movies in Egypt
Sat, August 9, 2008 - 7:37 PMlast time i went to a cinema ws in 1993 , since i gave up on the films of the 90s [ up till now]
i used to go to an open air cinema in my area [ heliopolis] the cinema is called palace
consist of winter cinema and another open air cinema , it was built in 1946 and the winter cinema did not re-decorated since it was made so imagine the condition...
the summer cinema were slighly better with semi-modernized plastic seats ...
it used to play double feature of 70s or early 80s arabic & forgin film
i recall the best ticket price then was 1-1.25 piaster and 25 piaster tip to the manwho show me the seat [ when i did not like the seat i usually go to another one with no problem at all]
despite it was open air and in summer the cinema was almost empty so u would see viewrs go more relaxed and feel free to place thier legs on the seat next to them[ as i did]
it was nice evening by all means , sadly thecinema closed from 1993 till now , each time i pass it evokes memories i cherish..
as for the article , i believe what happend in the last years i used to go to the cinema still happen now , though i feel it gone worse because people hear became sensless & selfish among other low habits ...
