I can't answer re the significance of Uranus/Neptune in the 8th (as opposed to personal planets) but I wouldn't worry too much about the descriptions re death :) I myself have a stellium in the 8th with my Moon, Mars, Saturn and Pluto. I could die violently (Mars) etc but then I'm sure not everyone who has this placement has or will...!

I personally think that planets in the 8th will tune you into the themes, energies of this house, so my guess is yes, it will contribute to certain insights (Uranus) into the 8th.

I have Uranus in Virgo in my 8th house, as well as, moon & mars conjunction in Leo... I have had some mediumship type experiences where I have felt, at times, the presence of deceased family, friends, and James Dean around me... when my grandfather died, he came to me... I was living in a different state at the time when he died but I "saw" him in my living room and was about to approach his "image" and ask what he was doing in my living room when the phone rang... it was my mom calling me to tell me my grandfather had died.

Since I have the moon & mars in the 8th house, also, I don't know if my mediumship and out-of -body experiences are due to the personal planets or Uranus or all three. Regarding Uranus in the 8th, I have noticed its eccentric, unconventional, rebellious energy in my life as I have had my share of unconventional, experimental sexual experiences and intimate relationships. I, also, have an intense passion for anything occult/metaphysical... taught myself astrology and the tarot. I have read many books on anything and everything metaphysical.
