Okay, you folk here...I KNOW you've had em! Post all the brushes you've encountered with the grim reaper. Funny, disturbing, tragic, whatever. You lived to tell the tale, so spit it out!
I'll start...
So I was hiking in Canada with my family, and there was this big waterfall. I hiked up to the top while the rest of my family were swimming in the waters bellow... I looked over the waterfall and fell off upside down.
As I was falling I was pushing my head away from jagged rocks, and time slowed down enough where I was thinking in terms of "Great, if I die my little cousin is going to be traumatized for life"
I plunged into icy waters and didn't know which way was up, so started to swim the wrong way and almost drowned. Somehow I came out of that situation scratch free...until I walked down the trail back to camp and stumbled on a TINY branch and cut my leg up really bad.
That's one of many...what've you got?

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 11:12 AMAt twelve, I choked at the dinner table. My mom had to perform the Heimlich Maneuver, but I knew that it wasn't going to work because I could feel the darned thing still stuck in my throat after about a minute. I managed somehow in my adrenalized state to put my wee hand down my throat and pull the stuff out. Yech.
How's that for spitting it out, Mike?
Yes, and there have been a few other instances of near-death experience. -

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Tue, April 8, 2008 - 8:14 PMhahaha this sound similar .....as to when I was a kid....and swallowed a ring and my mom also had to put her hand down my throat.......to get the damn thing out.......she said I was turning all types of colors...........I also had a similar experience with a piece of steak......as well.....
Also I have been in a 2 car accidents but it wasn't that bad............in one of the accidents we ended up doing three spins after losing control of the car after someone didn't notice we were in the lane ( bastards)....so I figured we were toast because it's the freeways in NY so those always have alot of cars -

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 11:48 AMWhen I was about 5 years old, I was riding my bike in the street, and WHAM! a car hit me! I don't remember much about that...except it was a miracle I wasn't killed!
When I was in 2nd grade, I used to love to play "Red Rover, Red Rover, we dare you to come over". Kids would hold hands and you had to run as fast as you could to try to break their hands apart. I ran REALLY fast and must have fallen and hit my head on the curb. Next thing I knew, I was waking up in the lap of a Nun (I went to a Catholic gradeschool) in the Convent. They must have carried me over there.
I also had many fevers when I was young....I would have hallucinations and be screaming when my parents came near me. They had to put rubbing alcohol on me to bring me back around....
Oh, I also hit my head a couple others times, but didn't pass out....but I had concussions....
Ha ha! No wonder I am sometimes quite craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy!!!!

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 7:52 PMI don't know if I could describe this as near death since I got out of it without any scratch.. well.. at least my skin was scratch free but my 3 front teeth were smashed on the ground.
I was crossing an intersection, it was green light for me so I didn't stop walking at all. On my left was a car turning on the right side (my side) but I didn't notice that he hadn't fully stopped. I didn't bother looking because I was carrying an umbrella, was raining a bit, and it was pedestrian's turn to cross so I just did it.
The driver also wasn't looking straight but on his left hand side, where the cars were coming from. Just a little note for those who don't live in canada.. drivers can turn right even if it's a red light.. as long as it's safe.
So needless to say, the car hit me. The impact wasn't strong but I still fell on the ground in the middle of the intersection.. face down.
Thankfully the driver noticed he hit me right away... or he wouldnt even have stopped. A lot of people saw the incident so they were the one who called 911... but I didnt even need it. I got up without any muscle pain or anything... Ambulance came, checked my vitals.. very normal so they didn't bring me to the hospital. My teeth were badly smashed so I just went to a dentist after.. lol
my 8th house planets and asteroids:
sun, mercury, venus, chiron, eros, eris.. and also vertex (just check my profile)

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 6:37 AMI have never had a near death (physical experience) but related to my Pluto, Venus and North Node in the 8th house - I have died inside and rebirthed myself spiritually and emotionally many many times (and when I say died inside - I mean gone to the DEPTHS of myself - places no one wants to visit! - but it was necessary for growth) -
Just thought Id share that aspect/form of death. Death meaning I almost lost myself in the dark places - because of my experiences - and never returned the same afterwards (regeneration/rebirth).
(Deep thoughts....lol) -

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 3:48 PMBah! We all know deaths are often symbolic. But those aren't any where near as fun to talk about or recount.
There was one time an old sociopathic manager of a place I used to work came in and was getting ready to pull his gun out to shoot me. (he was totally unhinged) when some guy came running in that went by some name I forgot...any way the guy told the old manager "The cops are coming! Let's get out of here"
When the police came, apparently the second party was a prominent gang member.
That was interesting... -

Don't judge my death story. -

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Sat, April 12, 2008 - 5:53 PMIm like Leelee, mostly
cept there was a gun once and a crazy meth head
i don't think he really would of shot us, but he drove alongside in his car....a little ways away and said
next time think twice about spare changing at my station and pulled his gun out from under the seat
I looked him dead in the eyes and gave him the sweetest smile (such a libra thing to do)
he got totally flustered and put it away that was real entertaining
sun, mercury,venus, uranus
I've probably been way closer to losing my mind completely
as people were feeding me large, very large amounts of psychedelics before I was old enough to know how much it really was
or to recognize some of the amounts as the numbers they were definitely met some thresholds of "how much can you handle" and got the answer "more than most people" a few times
my kid has an empty 8th house and I've saved her life two times( drowning, choking) for sure maybe three times(bloody head wound), that third with a lot of help from housemates,
all before she was five
......maybe it's the fixed cross? -maybe she's just an intense one to activate as her personality was waking up who knows

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Sat, April 12, 2008 - 8:13 PMFirst, with my planets. I've got Mars conjunct both Pluto and Saturn in Libra in the 8th. I've also got Pallas in the 8th, and Jupiter on the 8th/9th house cusp in Scorpio. I've also got moon in Aries opposing my 8th house planets.
Now for two near death experiences.
My friend was driving us on the highway, and all of a sudden he told me he had a bad feeling of deja vu (sorry no accent marks, don't know how on my pc). He often had bad boughts of deva vu, followed by feeling sick to the stomach. Well, I asked him if he was okay, and before responding, his body started to tense and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. His foot pressed down on the accelerator even further. He was having a seizure while sitting in the driver's seat! Time slowed down, and my mind became very clear. I knew that I needed to get into his seat to put my foot on the brake. As I was jumping over to his seat, he came out of it and let his foot off the accelerator, and I was able to grab the steering wheel and tell him to brake. We're lucky there had been no cars in the immediate vicinity, or else we would have surely hit them. We could have also hit the freeway barrier, going at 85 mph.
My friend and I were visiting some of her friends, and they took us to the railroad tracks. We walked down them pretty far, and on either side there was a steep embankment. The guys told us trains didn't use these tracks ever. But my friend and I started to get a strange feeling after a while. We thought, we've been here too long. We kept telling the guys, we need to leave. Well, as you may have already expected, all of a sudden we see a light coming from around the corner of the hill ahead. No sound, of course, just the light. it was a train. Maybe 100-200 ft. ahead, it was hard to judge. We started running down the tracks, my friend tripped, her friend helped her back up. We realized we had to scramble up the hillside, cause there was no flat area to run from the tracks. Using both hands, clinging to roots and rocks, I made my way up the embankment, and as soon as I reached the top and could turn around, the train came barreling by where we had just been standing. Once again, during this whole episode, I had an incredible sense of time slowing down, and calmness. I just did what I needed to do. And afterwards I wasn't even that shocked. It gives me confidence to know that I can react calmly under intense pressure. Maybe I've got some kind of inner warrior.
I wonder if this ability is read in my chart? -

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Sun, April 13, 2008 - 1:24 AMWow, that's the kind of story I was hoping for! That's incredible...
Well, as I've said umpteen times, the more scorpio/pluto/8th house shit you have, the more of a survivor you are. The stronger the influence, the more comfortable we are with crisis situations...
Or the other way around I noticed too, sometimes the COMPLETE inability to handle them. Alot of astrological influences are like learning how to ride a bike. Some people never do (I didn't!)
I forgot to say this, I got sun, uranus, saturn stellium in sag 8th, plus mercury in sag 8th too on it's own. -

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Mon, April 21, 2008 - 1:54 PMwell when i was 3-4 was being followed around by a kidnapper, confessed of trying to take me, when i was about 11 got scared on this fair ride went to jump off before it started and almost got crushed by the gate, got shot at by a toothless hill billy when i was 16, cut by a chainsaw on my leg near that artery when i was 17, a gun pointed in my face while i got robbed 3 houses down from my mother's house when i was 21. the toothless hillbilly one might not sound real but it was, chased me for about a half mile. -
-
Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Mon, April 21, 2008 - 2:49 PMLadies and gentlemen.... we have a winner!
Toothless hilbilly takes the cake. I'd give you a hug, but I can't. The sentiment is there.
Seriously, 8th house in a fire sign, it's really screwed up. I too have had some crazy ones (Sociopathic manager when I worked at a spy shop trying to rob at gun point, jumping on the ice top of a frozen river when I was 12 and getting off as soon as it all broke, falling off cliffs, getting stuck in a place with some guy who had a sex slave, countless car accidents...the works) -

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 2:40 PMwould have to agree with LeeLee. I have mars, saturn, pluto conjunct in 8th in Leo and have traveled to the dark side and the depths of myself and risen out of it many times...I liken myself to a Firebird.
Also, once, my car skidded on gravel and spun around on a highway into center lane traveling toward approaching traffic and an approaching semi, to be exact. I could do nothing except try to veer to the right slightly. We hit, his front and right side of truck and my left of car. As I was thinking, this is probably it for me, my car continued into far right lane as another semi was approaching in that lane. The car stalled, I jumped out and ran to side of road past shoulder...s2nd approaching semi was able to stop before slamming into my car.
The semi that hit me was disabled on side of road with driver shaking. He said he could see me clearly as he was approaching to hit me and has never in his life seen eyes sooooooo big. Of course, I had been on my way to a performance so had tons of Egyptian style kohl and dark make-up on my eyes which I am sure made them look even bigger. Anyway, not a scratch on anyone and of course, paramedics, police, totalled Subaru and other details but in the end. I got a ride, made it to my show and performed as planned. Needed a glass of wine and may not have been my most relaxed show ever....ha, ha,ha ....but....someone must have been looking out for me.
Jupiter in 12th house maybe and or trines from sun in aires to stellium in 8th house...or just wasn't my time...
Whatcha think????

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Sun, June 1, 2008 - 9:08 PMI'm only 20 but I've had a few dangerous encounters, not necessarily near death but still painful and scary.
One of the earliest ones was when I was on holiday with my mum and dad in Greece and nearly drowned in the deep pool (knucklehead wanted to prove to herself she could do it without armbands on her own) and my mum dived in and saved me. I seemed to fall in water quite a lot when I was little.
I've also all but knocked myself out by running into a metal climbing frame in the dark before. My friends were the worried ones, I was too busy giggling on the floor where I had landed.
Falling down steel edged stairs knees first is also funny.
One major one (that didn't happen to me personally, but I was involved) was when the wooden cabinet above my mum and step-dad's bed with a neon light tube fell on them and I had to switch the electricity off and help get them out from under it. (I was about 13)
Oh and I should never allow my mum to go driving in heavy rain. Especially when there's a huge hill that she has to go up to go anywhere out of our estate... or without working windscreen wipers along a very busy road. She has a tendency to panic. (She has Saturn in Capricorn in her 8th house as have I).
I have Mars, Saturn and Uranus tightly conjunct with Neptune widely conjunct them all in Capricorn, my 8th house cusp is in Saggitarius and Jupiter is in the 12th house Aries trining the Mars/Saturn/Uranus (exclud. Neptune) cluster.
I do get freaked out by these things but as I get older I've gotten used to it and take the hilariously retarded moments and nasty situations as learning processes.

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!
Thu, June 12, 2008 - 2:20 PMI actually had two. Once when I was about 7 or so I was in my baby-sitters back yard pool. Her son and his friends decided to make a whirlpool and of course, I was more than up for it. There were a bunch of them, all older teenage guys into their twenties. Eventually, they got this whirlpool going pretty good. Unfortunately, any scrawny 7 year old kid would have problems holding on to the edge of the pool and I ended up getting sucked down to the bottom and couldn't swim my way back up. I only remember a feeling of panic and then blacking out.
The second time, some friends and I decided to make each other pass out. You know that stupid game teenagers play where you take so many deep breaths, then come up taking in as much air as possible and crossing your arms over your chest. Supposedly the longer you can hold your breath while someone is pressing on your chest, the better the experience is. For me, it was always more of this weird interest in going into these weird unconscious states than it was the feeling of passing out. I had agreed to let them press on my chest well after I had passed out. Hey, it seemed like a good idea. Apparently, I began having a seizure and stopped breathing from the experience. Fortunately, one of my idiot friends knew CPR and I was revived before the paramedics had arrived.
Leo Moon in the eighth house opposition Aquarius Sun/Venus in the second.

Re: Share your dramatic near death expierence!

Wed, July 2, 2008 - 8:07 AMMmm lets see before I was even born my mother had plans on aborting me but kept me. When I was little kid I fell off a slide and almost got squashed by a dresser once. I have had countless times where I could have been ran over by a car.
