Re: Is this thing on - tap tap tap
Mon, December 22, 2008 - 9:06 PMfuck yeah bro! Inactivity might have something to do with a general discontent with Tribe services, and a certain apathy related to that. At least, it does for me. But merry Christmas to all anyway! -

Re: Is this thing on - tap tap tap
Tue, December 23, 2008 - 2:40 PMWoot!! I agree. That long period of tribe dysfunction seems to have put a lot of us off. I'm trying to check in more often. Just wanted to make sure that this prized li'l group was still around. Good tidings and happy creating!!! -

Re: Is this thing on - tap tap tap
Tue, December 23, 2008 - 11:24 PMWell, I have it on good authority that
the dysfunctional previous owner of Tribe , who had sabotaged the fuck out
it by stripping it of resources until there was only one remaining employee running the
entire thing (and being verbally abused by the owner) has been bought out
by a group of Tribe.net members who love the possibility of this paradigm.
Because I moderate several tribes I recieved a long detail email about all the things they are fixing
to make tribe vastly quicker and more reliable.
I even finally got my Tribe T-shirt that was promised to everyone who pitched in $50 when Tribe was on the
brink of financial collapse before this takeover.
So, even though the traffic is still way down (and tribe will have to follow this up with some consistency to
avoid anyone being cynical about it's future success) the speed of the site has increased rapidly
(or have you noticed) and I think because this paradigm is so distinctly different from the
MySpaces', the Facebooks, the Twitters, The Friendsters, the MyJournals of the internet that
we have the ability to start building even more of a supportive artistic climate than we did before.
This place has always catered to artists and musicians in a vastly larger percentage than the general population
represents.
This could be our place if it stays afloat.
I vote that we support it. I'm gonna give it my best shot, certainly
