How about the Variety Playhouse in L5P? It has hosted some great Reggae shows over the years: Aswad, Burning Spear, and Mikey Dread. Lots of space to dance and party....but I don't know if it's changed recently. I think the management is open to discussion. The Asheville scene has good potential, and a lot of interest in reggae. I wanna take over that skating rink (near where you live) one night, and DJ a Trance Dance! The lights and floorspace are doable; don't know about the management. Remember, this is my concept, and I wanna DJ!!! Do you play bars, like Jake's Toadhouse? Don't know how much space/power you need, but Shimshai played there, and they treated him well. I think they gave him use of their stage without charge.

If you are willing to travel north I would suggest the Living Seed in New Paltz, NY! I know the owner so let me know if you are interested. there is also the Joyous lake in Woodstock, NY where phish used to perform on a regular basis.

    Portland, OR

    Hawthorne Theater (formerly Conan's)
    Doug Fir
    The Fez
    Holocene

the goodfoot is "ok" but i am too psyched for the low ceilings in this basement venue
there are several ok venues in this city but the above 4 have the best vibe and the most room for expressive dancers like myself.

if you come through here, i will hook you up if y'all want free digs to lay your head.

I also have contacts with folks in Seattle/Vashon Island, Wa & Eugene/Hood River, Or along with a couple other venues F'Ånh tse didn't mention here in Portland, although the Doug Fir & The Fez are 2 of my favorites.
Come to Portland, you will want to stay.

yeah, you could maybe open for someone there...

the boom boom room would probably be a more appropriate size club

We are putting together a mid-winter event here in Paonia Colorado promoting a local festival, Dreamtime, and someone contacted me through the Dreamtime tribe saying you all play some great music and that you might be passing through here around that time. I'm downloading you site now (slowly, only dial-up atm), but look forward to checking out your music and seeing if you might be interested in stopping through our great little valley this winter. The exact date should be determined today, it will be somewhere between the tenth and the twentieth of January. Please keep in touch, i'm on Tribe regularly.

        Peace,

        Djero

    Hi Paul!

You guys should totally come back to Durango on your way back home. I talked to you a little bit at the Summit on Friday night (remember?), but you guys were awesome. Thank you. And I look forward to seeing you back in Durango. Peace.
