Food and drink?

A question for Sanctuary veterans: what do YOU do for food? What kind of food do you bring for your meals? Snacks? What kinds of drinks are allowed at the event?

Who camps and who stays in a cabin? Or does everyone do the cabin?

Any tips for first-timers?

Let's see if I can remember...

There's a HUGE commercial kitchen with all the usual pots, pans, silverware, etc., plus a stove, an oven, microwave (I think), walk-in refrigerator, and a freezer. And, it's a clean up after yourself gig.

B'FAST: my usual... cereal, veggie sausage, and coffee. I brought my own stovetop espresso maker.
LUNCH: Pasta salad with lots of veggies made ahead of time so there was no prep time.
DINNER: Burritos, but cookin' of the rice and beans took more time than I wanted to spend cooking so I'll probably come up with something that I can make ahead of time again.
SNACKS: the usual... chips, M & Ms, cookies, nuts, banana bread, fruit, veggies.
DRINKS: Wine, beer, cider. Lots of us were partying after the drum session Friday night and during the hafla Saturday night and during the lunch break, and... uhm... you get the drift. ~:0 ]

Yasmin brought a huge package of precooked ribs and that woman ate those ribs for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner every day! HA!

Those who are used to staying in hotels considered it camping. To me, a wilderness outdoor girl, the facilities were luxury accommodations! Everyone, as far as I know, stayed in the cabins (cinderblock with air conditioning and bunks, bring your own bedding). I almost trekked out to the meadow to sleep 'cause one woman in our cabin was snoring soooo loudly. Bring earplugs! There are creeply crawly critters, such as rattlesnacks, in the area so unless you're used to camping in those conditions you will probably want to stay in the cabins.

There are group bathroom facilities with hot showers. Bring your own towels, etc.

The meadow grass is a bit dry so bring a blanket or tapestry to hang out on.
A sun parasol isn't a bad idea if you're sensitive to sun. Bring sunscreen!
Don't forget your swimming attire if you want to swim.
Bring a drum for the drum workshop!
Anything else you need to entertain yourself between workshops.

Other than that, just come prepared to have a laid-back great time!

Looking forward to spending some quality time with ya, Sharon!

There is 8 cabins... Depending on how many guys come I'll designate 1 or 2 as co-ed cabins and the rest will be all girly cabins.... You can bring whatever you want to cook... as katherine said there is a frezer and refrigerator..... I made hashbrowns one day, I'll probably bring tofu sausages, veggies & fruit..... and some snacks..... There is dishes and pans but we need to bring our own cooking oil, herbs, drinks, coffee (I'm a junkie)...... I'm sure if you forget something someone else will most likely lend it to you..... As Katherine said suncsreen,...... there is a beautiful lake for swimming, unfortunately indoor facility to dance on is concrete..... so if peeps have rugs that may be helpful..... the outdoor place to hold class can get sunny..... I suggest lots of water... as Katherine said fel free to bring beer, alcohol etc..... there's my suggestions for now....

Hey folks! I'm finally on this tribe thingamajigger! I know, I know.... where have I been? Well... kids, husband, gigs, classes... not a lot of time for chattin and perusing Tribe, unfortunately. BUT I'm stoked for this weekend!!!!!

      K>>> Question and suggestion:

Indigo, are there outlets in the cabins? Wondering if it would be fun to bring a boombox for tunes.

Suggestion: Bring ballet slippers or dance footies for the concrete wkshp floor.

        Hey Dahlia! Welcome to Tribe.

Yes, there are outlets, at least one, in each cabin. I think it's part of the air conditioning unit if I remember correctly.

Can't wait to meet you this weekend!
