The Friday night midnight set was by far the best set. The magic that happened was so inspiring and rooting. Rituals like his are what set Emrg N See apart........

Sunday late night at the Jellyfish was amazing as well....

Other than those two sets the whole week-weekend was mind expanding.

Solovox's sets blew everyone else away, I totally got my dancy-dancy on!

The Jellyfish Garden was wonderful, I hope they recouped the loss from their projector being stolen. *scowl*

And the Serpent Path ritual/pathworking was powerful and unexpected!

Yeppers, 'THE' most boring show on earth really was SOOOOOOOO boring - NOT! Honestly, I dont remember the last time I have laughed that hard. From Free Ballin' to the guys 'Manhood' performance, it was all just simply fabulous

Cohen's set of 'love songs' was simply magical and yummy

Vibesquad > ELF > Rab = AHHHHHHHH!!!!! choice!

Saqi > Kitty D's set was exactly what I needed on Sunday as well

EMRG+N+SEE orchestra was off the hook, everything flowed so organically and the collaborations were great to watch

Uhhhh, sauna and swimming hole? at a festival? Talk about rejuvination station! cant beat that

and the location was simply magical, great site to have a fest

Mmmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmmm - the whole weekend was DELICIOUS

miss ~ana sia~ has a new place in my glitchity bass chakra favorites.....even though she blew the right stack of speakers!

Vibesquad > ELF > Rab = AHHHHHHHH!!!!! choice! (((avena seconds that one)))

and this is by no means an ego check, but one of humility and gratitude...tops for me was the honor of facilitating da PUJAFUNK Dance Ritual on Saturday. the crown chakra mandala meditation that you beloveds sent out to the world was phenomenal.THANK YOU for all that participated in the ritual!

I am still basking in the Emerge-N-See after-glow, and feeling so grateful to be able to attend an event of that nature.

The Heavyweight Dub experience was amazing; so raw, powerful and beautiful.

That Taal Mala set on the first night was pretty nasty, and I was definitely feelin' the whole Elliot/Pnuma thang.

    Musics:

Lifesavas tore it up Sunday night.
Solovox: Both sets (Sunday morning 3 AM, and Sunday eve 7:30, nice live organic housey breaks changed it up)
Global Ruckus (nice get the party started Global Dance Set Friday afternoon)

The surroundings were fantastic of course. The overall visual style was a delicious treat. Vendors were cool and their wares either beautiful or yummy. The people were wonderful and the positivity boundless. I was honored and proud to be on staff and can't wait for next year! Thanks to all for making it happen and making me feel so welcome!

      Wow. TRuely epic.

I wasn't sure that this year could match last year, but...
THIS YEAR WAS EVEN BETTER THAN LAST!!!

I mean, it was epic doing a renegade mission to the swimming hole with Elijah and Arun last year, but having the whole boooty-ful posse all lounging around naked at the pond and playing music? EPIC.

      Livesavas... dream come true.
I never really FULLY got heavy weight until this year. They totally swept me up in their music and had me raging as APOSTLE fell on the side of the stage and KEPT ROCKING.

APT!!! Many had no idea what was gonna go down, and it's too bad cause many folks who in hindsight wish that they had been there missed it, but all who were there got fully whomp'd by the raw power of the performance piece, the hotness of their four boy lineup (reminiscent of the glitch mob), the visuals that flowed with the story woven into the music, the EPIC MUSIC... I am SO GLAD that I caught that set... Was anyone video taping?

Sleepyhead and Mimosa opening the dome Friday night! Those my boys! Watchout ya'll... THIS is what's comin... and the dome was fully bouncin for this set.

Serpent Path Ritual Theater/Fanna Fi Allah - so good to start it off with such potent shamanic intention. I was stoked that there was more organic music this year (like live bands), Luminous Fog and Lafa Taylor rocked it, and the band that was playing just before Luminous Fog? They were local ashland hiphop crew I think? Wish more people had seen them, they were awesome.

      What else...?
My mind keeps drifting back to the day time pond sessions! EPIC!!!

Chance of Rain Waffles and V Spot Veggie Burgers saved my life more than a few times.

But, my highlight of the festival...?

      the Kids,
Yosha, Kiave, Solray, Harmony and especially Baby Satya Dragonfly and Lorijah!
it's sooooo great to have time to be an uncle to these wonderful beings. And festivals are so much more fun from the perspective of a child! I love running around with them and playing from their point of view! How about a kid camp zone and small stage next year, for the little ones and for the kid in all of us!

Also, I would like to see more of a variety show/tallent show during the day time in the pavilion, or at the Swimming Hole Stage (?!?!?!) next year...

      Good Job Team.
      Waaaaaaaaaay to go.

      fer real.
      YUM.

each and every moment full to bursting for sure...

but a special bow to the opportunity for live music, more intricate subtle voices to have their place amidst the whomp whomp...

        can you say TARA TATI?!?!
brilliant quirky easy listening of the highest caliber

Tarran the Tailor, Cohen, Anahata Sound...
the moments cuddled with the family having our full spectrum intelligence serenaded...dreamy.

and a lifelong dream...HELIOS slayed my heart mind and soul. nerd massive foreva.

and of course Lighta! crew holds it down like none other, and Danny and Ana's tag team blew it wide open.

sheesh...i am so stoked on the energetix of this year....

i heart the pavilion stage late night and early morn...acoustic lush vibes....intimate...delish
the amount of live music...super diverse in genre...
all the slayers of slay slay...

the Armageddon Prevention Team was highly honored by premiering their new show, "Advanced Peace Technologies," at emrg+n+see.... Doubly honored by how well-received it was and see us mentioned here....

After the show, someone approached me about doing the show out on the playa, which we really want to do. This kind generous soul offered up a mobile rig with audio and video. However, I was still reeling from the performance and completely zonked on sugar [stage blood and chocolate syrup], and cannot remember who this was?

            Leads????

            • uh...yea...favorite moments...

              Sun, August 3, 2008 - 10:33 PM
well...i always feel a bit like an idiot when i'm confessing favorites, esp at an event where i'm running around, cuz honestly, i'm driven more by pouring a ton of monkee greeze on the festival's gears, so i end up missing people who I wanted to check out, even my dear friends.... so this list is purely coincidental/serendipitous....

first of all, biggest moments all week: getting to work an awesome production team. what a reward to work hard alongside this amazing, talented of dedicated peeps! i think the festival never looked more beautiful... thanks to all the installation artists, stan clark, arun, digital organics, NATURE! and his crew. When I cruised up to the top of the land in the cart and saw stan's alien anemone's glowing from the trees, it was a huge yes, and the symbiotic fusion of arun's tapestry's and stan's chandelier in the Dome!

swimming in the pond. swimming in the pond. swimming in the pond.

good food by our wizards in the kitchen....thank you so much JDubz and crew!!!!

having to refuse Coconut Bliss numerous times, cuz everytime i went to the pavilion, i was offered some.... thanks chris!!!

quad capps at the grove for breakfast

zee live acts: Filastine....wow! bangs on a shopping cart better than Einsturzende Neubauten... The FUnginears variety show.... Highlarious of course....however, free ballin' left me unable to listen to tom petty ever again... also when fueling the generator, got to hear eoto for the first time... happy happy times....

of course i'm going to have to big ups to my baby sistah.... 3WS... there were a lot of afternoon sets with barely a handful of folks out there. too bad... you missed some of the prettiest music of the festival.... neptune, jamie, and my padnah ross all played some of more beautiful meditative sets where i got to stretch, relax, dance..... keenan & max slaying it.... mah man ill gates...rowdy... panties on the head for bringing extra panties and bringing levity to monday morning...

              c u on the playa....
              yr comrade,
              chris sia

Big thanks to all the beautful people wandering around here and there. So nice to wake up, rub the sleep out of your eyes, walk a hundred yards, flip out on the floor in front of all that SOUND and then mosey on elsewhere.

So much killer music...loved a lot didn't like other stuff. But that's cool..go somewhere else for a bit. Hang, talk, smooch, connect. You and you and YOU are my tribe so what's up. I loved that, truly.

BUUUUUUUTTTTTT......Rab..um..Rab....and that whole morning...but Rab....um that's taking Chocolate, putting in the special Rab Transmorgafier and turning it into Sound.

    So many blessings..thank you.
C ya at da Ban on da playa onna cloud wida smile
