My name is Paula and I lost a back Sony cybershot camera sunday night at main stage after flying lotus . Randy Primeaux found my camera and while attemping to get it back to it's rightful owner gave the camera to a girl who said she knew me. I am still waiting to hear from this girl. So... can you imagine the incredible knee slappin, corny old timey fun of an ice breaker activity like square dancing could be at emrngsee??
swirling tu tus as your grab your partner for a sashay...we can make a tunnel with our arms and skip to the lou through the upraised arms

maybe some creative musicmaker can make a mix with banjos and fiddles
and then someone can beatbox the square dancing instructions
and then all the freakers will come and square dance

i just think this is too funny to pass up

super excited to announce that...yes, silly heads...of course EMRG+N+SEE is happening this year. i get butterflies in my tummy just thinking about it. it's gunna be soooooo tight this time around-soooo much in store. it'll be our 6th birthday. we're practically grown-ups (syyyyke)

we've got our pulse on the west coast fo'shizzlez. as many of you know, i have moved up to the sunshine coast/vancouver bc. it's been awesome checkin in on a whole big yummy chunk of our west coast fam that dances on the north side of things.

another big move happened as well...our beloved donkey(teehee), W, has packed his bags and cruised to LALA land. it's so fresh how it's working out. i feel like we've cast our starseed nets far and wide and we beez dancin with all the fishes mahhh bitches.

so, the time has come...we want to hear your voices. tell us what you wanna dance to. we wanna keep it fresh. so, let us know who you're listening to, who you haven't seen a billion times and wish to...tell us which of the e'n'see family artists thatchyad like to see again...

A Sacred Space at Emrg+N+See 2009

I would love to help create a special zone wherein deep exploration may occur and where
workshops is various forms of conscious energetic creativity may be held.

I have been developing more and more fabrics with which to create shrines and temple spaces
for this specific purpose, and have been weaving together (along with others who are in similar orbits of intention)
the various strands of work and play that can make such a space really contribute
to the overall vibe of the festival.

I am interested in working with others to facilitate a dome or similar zone
that can be festooned with loveliness and filled with
delicious and nutritious happenings.

Hello Ashland, this is your wake up call. For anyone who doesn't know, Ott is seriously a WIZARD of a producer of some the finest electronic music out there. Lush, soulful, melodic, this is not your daddy's four on the floor duff duff. It is a huge treat to have him come.

That being said, please spread the word. Stillwater is working hard to bring top notch acts to our town, and it is vital that we support their efforts if we would like to see it continue. If you can't make it, then get someone else to go. They won't be dissaponted.

"The most fantastic modern dub from West Country reclusive genius Ott, whose album really is over the top in quality, depth and shinning brilliance. Spacey strings, chants, otherworldly noises and pertinent samples collide with his massive rub a dub beats and bass. Otts music is a world to its own, a pure undiluted atmospheric world of swirling stoned sound and colour. Indian to Arabic to African Otts, dubs are boundaryless and boundless in their, scope and strength. Otts music is a paradox of dub, not stereotypically slow heavy sounds but at once an upbeat dancey dub full of light, world chants and funky beats, while still maintaining a slow and relaxed ambient groove. Following on from his Hallucinogen In Dub album (TWSCD16) for Twisted Records this solo album is a selection of clean hard grooves and the best dub studio skills, echo, delay, phasing, instruments popping up out of the murk and then submerging again, skills of which Ott is a particular maestro. Last year's Emerg+N+See filled me with the in-Love-ness and the inspiration that fueled this year's artwork...

those unique collaborations, the documentation of a moment in time, so much collective energy swirling around...

the quickening

Here are some thoughts to get ready for my workshop at the show.

As we spiral through time at the end of three galactic cycles the speed at which I am experience reality around me is quickening. Not that time is speeding up but that what happens in time seems to be more. Bigger strides are taken through the landscape of my life. The rate at which I attain wisdom through experience goes faster and faster. I am beginning to understand a bigger peripheral view of the fractal of nature that I am a part of. I understand layers or veils or nested dimensions of which this universe seems to be made.

What I have been able to perceive, as of late, are realms of existence with ever increasing layers of complexity. These different realms of consciousness exist as a more animated anthropomorphic, or shamanic understanding of nature for instance. Where the realms of plant divas and animal spirits converse with mineral and elemental beings. This and other layers of reality are lost to our awareness as secular materialists but were once common ways of seeing the world.

Being able to “see” or more accurately “feel” the presents of fairies and elementals takes a bit of getting used to. If one doesn’t get swept away in the novelty and story of these experiences one can navigate quit admirably. When one becomes accustom to working within the spirit realms it can become a very interesting experiment in how someone can affect ones surroundings.

I have begun working with an individual who we will call “Michael”. This gentleman lives in southern OR and has been living half his life in the “astral”. This means having conversations and interactions with people and beings that most physical people cannot see or perceive. He projects his consciousness in to a parallel dimension using a basic shamanic journey technique. In this level of the astral things and events mirror the events that occur in this world in some way. However they occur outside our understanding of linier time.

Recently I have joined him there for the purpose of doing the Work as they say. In a way I liken it to playing roll play video games where there is a semi consistent world within which we meet at certain times, David meditating in his house in Oregon me sitting in my spot in northern California. In these worlds we confront, dispatch or heal entities that are negatively affecting this world or individuals in it.

I recently went on an assignment with Michael where we set out to make a deal with the divas of the wildfires that exploded throughout northern California. The thing with divas is that they are tricky and fairy like and they like to do what they are here to do. Flower divas like to bloom and fire divas like to burn. There over 1000 fires that are still raging, most of the out of control. The divas of those fires are having a hey day doing what they do best in a landscape that is long overdue for a good hot cleaning. If these fires are supported by the right conditions they could flame up and consume huge parts if the wild land have rugged Nor Cal. We want to convince the spirits of the fires to “lay down” as the firefighters call it, and allow the firefighters to win.

After a bit of negotiating with the fire spirits and the okey dokey from Shrine, Michael and I made a deal with the consciousness of the fires. We agreed that the fires would lay down and allow firefighters to bring them under control. In exchange, what they will get in return, is the opportunity for the California Fire spirits to burn the most sacred and special prize in the world. The ripest plumb to be plucked by fire every year is the temple at Burning Man. The catch is that we have to collect as many divas directly from the wildfires and keep them in an eternal flame until they can be let loose into the heart of the burning man festival. If they don’t keep their word and the fires flare up again we can always snuff those little eternal flames and that will be that.

It is an interesting experiment in the nature of how my ever-expanding perception of reality does have an effect my surroundings in this dream world.

The New Earth

The dry electrical storm that rolled in from the pacific made everything around me staticky. The electricity felt as though it was brought up from the Earth’s core along deep and ancient lay lines. I feel waves of energy are pulsing through the planet. The sky is a smoky pink as 800+ fires bloomed like blistering thistles throughout California. The boys that would step up as fire fighter heroes are coming home in boxes from a place we willingly sent them.

We humans shrink away despite our best efforts, we have become painfully aware of the ants that we are. Yet another Indra in a long line of Indra’s. The world can change in a flash; all that we thought was stable is coming apart, and we are left fending for ourselves.

With my limited human reasoning I could say the 131 fires in Mendocino County where I live, are Gods retribution for the people who passed measure B, changing the limit of the amount of medical marijuana plants from 25 plants per prescription to 6. That is, if I were a religious man.

The process of growing these beautiful medicine plants is a caregiver’s act of merging with nature. They teach us how to listen to the telepathic voices of plants and animals, stones and water. They show us that a shaman’s path can be taken through the global tipping point of environmental deterioration.

I see the world is at war. But the war we are engaged in is not a battle with guns and bombs, though there are many of those. It is a spiritual war. The theater is not a jihad in the Middle East or the threat of terrorists on US soil; this spiritual war is going on in YOUR head and in your heart. The stakes are your soul and the YOUR divine right of free will. Everyday above our heads we are being sprayed with poison like pests, as if we are a cancer to the world’s resources horded greedily by the worlds wealthy.

Yet we are made of earth, stardust and prana. The light, which we have so mastered and slowed into the matter that makes up our bodies, is the battleground in this final “end of days”

This paradox of humans as angel and planetary cancer has created a split, a dual timeline where on one side the sleeping sheeple do as they are told. They will watch glassy eyed as the Dark Masters round them up to be gassed as in days long past; the promise of “never again” so quickly forgotten.

On the other path are those who have rejected this crumbling world and have taken up natural cycles and spiritual systems, we are the ancient humans who long to be free.

The Navaho profit Wavoka had a vision in the 1870’s where the white mans world will roll up like a carpet and underneath will be the return of the great buffalo on the planes of Earth. This became known as the Ghost Dance. We are the spirits of his dead ancestors that he once told would return. The new Heaven and the new Earth are upon us and now the time of great change has come.
