Chatsworth Pirate Fair!

Enchantress Designs will be at the brand spanky shiny new CHATSWORTh PIRATE FAIR on July 4-5!

There will be pirates, bellydancers (including yours truly, performing at 3:00 both days), lots of fun stuff to watch, look at and buy, and very groovy people!

It will be held at Brown's Canyon Park in Chatsworth! Be there or be square!

Ruffle Bums are going like HOTCAKES!

5 out of the 7 Ruffle Bums are gone!!! (1 went before I even got a picture of it!)

All of you out there who were drooling over them, not to worry! I am making a few more (as many as I can in 2 weeks lol) to bring to the Ojai Bellydance Festival on March 21!
SO!!!!

If you want one, and are thinking of a certain color, let me know! I'm not promising to make one especially for you (unless you want to do a custom order, that is lol), but I'd love to know what colors you are all interested in so I can make them even MORE desirable BUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

March 28 ~ the stage show Mythical Creatures (OMG if you are in the area, GO TO THIS it will be AMAZING!!!!!)
April 4-5 ~ at the ojai Ren Faire....where I guest solo when I can with the Doublecrown Dancers
April 11th ~ at the Weathervane Hafla at Epica Studios in Newbury Park

ALSO this summer, I have a great opportunity to show off at the Fusion Fest in Boise, ID!!!!! I am so excited :D

Anyone in need of some ruffles????

Well, now you can have more then you ever dreamed of! Go check out the album for my newest fun fashion addiction: the Ruffle Bums!

These steampunk-inspired overskirts sway, flutter, and are otherwise entirely too sassy! They are corset-laced, so they are all adjustable sizes, although the smallest is the Autumn one. I can get exact measurements for those who want to know.

New Class Schedule circa 2009

Hey there guys and gals.

Just a quick note (I dont know who looks here anymore *sigh*)

The new Wed night schedule at Epica will be:
6:30-8:00 new formatted ULTRA CLASS!

Same price, same place, different hours, different content!

First 1/2 hour or so will be dedicated to technique and drilling. After that we will continue on to choreography and showmanship. I am really excited about this new format and I hope y'all will be also!

It's been a busy summer. It seems 10 times harder to get things done when there are three kidletts running amuck in the house all day. Cutting fabric and utilizing a serger just don't seem to keep them entertained like it used to (just kidding, no child labor here, folks! I'm too much of a control freak to let kiddos near my gorgeous fabrics with scissors *EEK*).

Enchantress Designs will be vending at the Ojai Pirate Fair in September. This year it is once again TWO WEEKENDS so you have lots of opportunities to come down and ogle my goodies on September 20-21 and September 27-28

Ojai Pirate Fair

Allrighty, ladies and gents! My next show is coming up! I will be making my appearance for 2 weekends STRAIGHT at the Ojai Pirate Fair at Lake Casitas!

I am going to toss some fun and games into the mix at the fair! With every purchase, you will get raffle tickets. $20 or less, 1 ticket. Up to $50, 2 tickets. Up to $100, 3 tickets. Above $100, 5 tickets!!! At the end of the fair, I will choose a winner, and they will get $50 in free merchandise! New Fabrics!!!

I went in to LA today. Now, remember that I only get a certain amount of each fabric. These haven't been made yet, so give me a bit lol. Sultry Satchels

Well, I got all crazy lately and decided that I have FAR too much cool fabric...I just HAD to use it. SO, I started playing around and made these:

The Sultry Satchel drawstring purses!!!!

Made from brocades, silks, and satins (some made from those GORGEOUS silks with the 3-dimensional embroidery!!! OMG SO PRETTY!), and decorated with tassels, fringe, ribbons, and lace, each one is unique (like you've come to expect here at Enchantress Designs) and each one is so much fun! They are fully lined, and big enough to actually (GASP) HOLD stuff in!!!! Imagine! A sweet little purse that will hold more then a lipstick, a car key, and a $20! The mind boggles, I tell you!!!

Anyhow, I am loving making these. I got a bunch more fringe, ribbon, lace, and tassels today to make even more satchels. They will make their real life debut at the Ojai Pirate Fair on September 13, but here are some sneak peeks of a few of them!

Ribbon Bracelets

Also more fun with cloth! I am having WAY too much fun with my sewing machine in my new sewnig room!

SO These are made from panne velvet, ribbon, lace, and loooove!

Some of these laces are so rich, I just wanted to dive right into the spools!!!

First: my Earth Tones:

The top is a gorgeous chocolatey brown lace over black base. There are 2 of this one
The second is a beaded lace that has all facets of copper in it...mmmm mmmm yummy!

The first is a beautiful grey with black velvet victorian designs, surrounded by delicate lace
The second is a groovy spiderweb cloth with purple spangle dots and a great ribbon fringe that lays over the hand

The first is black panne velvet that has REALLY FUN metallic purple lace edging.
The second is any goth girls fantasy. Black velvet with black lace so drippy that it runs down your hands. MMMMMM There are two of these.

What fabrics do YOU want in your Triple Chanty?

So, the time has come when the kiddos are going to be heading back to school. You all know what this means!

I CAN GO INTO THE GARMENT DISTRICT!

So, I am planning a day of exhausting fabric shopping, and I was wondering: what do YOU want?

Do you like the funky fabrics? Lots of cool, off-the-wall designs and fabrics? Bright colors, and fun glitters?

Do you like the bold patterns? Stripes, checks, houndstooth?

Do you like the sparkly fabrics? Sparkles, sparkles, everywhere?

How about the classic solid fabrics? And if you want solids, what colors? Black is a given (I wear my 2 solid black ones constantly!), but do you want purples, reds, WHITES????

What about those pretty lacey fabrics?

For this piece, the fabrics have to be stretchy, so I can't go with brocades (YET! I'm working on a brocade option MUAHAHAHAHA!), but if you have any ideas, or are looking for something specific, LET ME KNOW NOW! I madea LOT of Chanties out of my last trip, and I still have about half of them left, so I have stock. But I'm looking to get some limited-run fabrics to put up at the Orange County Bellydance Festival and for TRIBAL FUSION FAIRE!!!!

So, let me know what you like, what you want, and how I can make YOU happy!!!!

But do it quick, once I go, I'm not going back for a while ;)

Peaceful Night earrings

These are easily my favorite set of earrings so far. I love love love them! The center medalion and the large beads are a blue goldstone so deep, so sparkly, and so clear that I just want to dive into them. They are long, but not nearly as heavy as you think they are. I just can't say enough about these things....I kinda want to keep them for myself lol!

Labradorite Leaflets

NEW STUFF WOOOOT!!!

I absolutely love this necklace. I'm very tempted to keep it for my own self hehehehe!

The pendant is labradorite, and the picture shows just a bit how incandescent it is. When you hold it up to the light, it's almost translucent. It glows! The chaining is the last bit of this gorgeous deep peacock green metal that compliments the pendant like crazy.

Stop wondering and start checking it out MUAHAHAHAHA!

Performance schedules for the next few months are as follows:

September 20-21 and 27-28 at the Ojai Pirate Fair. I vend and perform at the Ojai events (busy busy busy). I dance with the Doublecrown Dancers as a soloist, so stop by my booth and I'll tell you when I'm on stage WOOT! Or you can just hang around my booth...I tend to dance around anyhow hehehehehe

October 12, I am still debating whether or not to dance at the OC Bellydance Festival. I am trying to, but I need to make sure I can bring along a booth helper so I can take off and shimmy :) Either way, come to this one, it should be FUN!

My troupe the Molecular Midriffs will be performing at the Ojai Day street fair on October 18. I also have a solo spot that day as well, and there are always TONS of gorgeous dancers there to ogle all day long! Time TBD

I will also be dancing around that night at my annual Costume birthday party (I'm turning 21...again) Anyone in the area is invited, let me now if you want the details!

Karma and the Molecular Midriffs will also be at the Thousand Oaks Street Fair on October 19. Time TBD but it will most likely be in the morning because then we head on over to the...

BELYDANCE KALEIDESCOPE in Highland on the evening of October 19! This is going to be a Halloween themed showcase, from what Richard has told me, so get ready to come and see some creep-tacularness!

Punk Raqs and Tribal Rendezvous

Well, I just sent in my apps this week for both Punk Raqs (June 29) and Tribal Rendezvous (July.....crud, I think it's the weekend of the 24th lol...my brain just shut down!)

I will only have small areas in both of them (not rich yet, but my goal is to reach Miss Melodia's commerciial kneecaps LOL!), but I will be bringing many many Triple Chanty skirts, as well as some select chainmaille items, my panel belts, my crochet tassle and fringe belts, and my hair falls. If there are things that you think I should definately bring to one (or both) of these events, let me know!!! :D

Still alive...barely!

WHEW!

Well, I am still here! I have over 150 Triple Chanty Convertible Skirts that are going to be swooping in to the Punk Raqs event next Sunday!!!! I still have about 40 left to sew hooks and eyes on, but there are loads to choose from :D

Also, a new belt has been posted. After the custom Aquarius belt, I realized that cowries + belt = smashing!!!! So now there is a gorgeous belt up and ready for you to all drool over it ;)

The Lake Casitas Ren Faire is this weekend, and guess who is going to be there!!!

Yep, moi! All of my groovy stuff and I are taking the daunting hike up to Ojai (wow, 30 miles!!!) and will be set up in our booth all weekend! If you're in the area, this is a great little fair. Very family oriented, very fun, and with a lot of great vendors and entertainment (if the double crown dancers guild is there, I might be part of the entertainment myself!). Raffle opportunity!

On March 22, there is going to be a hafla held at Epica Studios in Newbury Park! That's CA, for you cross-country and international members ;) I will be putting one of my items up for raffle at the event, and I need some help with a few things!

Micro Byzantine bracelet

The newest installment in the photo album! You might notice that this bracelet is going for a bit more then my normal stuff. This is because the bracelet is made from 24guage rings that measure only 1/16th of an inch across. The colored rings are anodized niobium, a precious metal, and stainless steel. The blue and purple of the niobium blend so well, it looks like the bracelet is shaded! The bracelet took more then 8 hours to construct, and is deceptively delicate-feeling.

Wanna see the Enchantress perform?

OK then!

I just thought I'd let you know where I'd be in the next little while, wiggling around like a maniac!

For those of you in the Ventura area, on March 12 (that's next Wed), myself and my student troupe, the Molecular Midriffs, will be performing at Macy's (yes, Macy's) in the oaks Mall. We will be in the Men's store, on the second floor where all the "cool" clothes are kept....the young men's department lol. We will be performing at 8:30, and about 9:00, and wandering around dancing in between.

On March 22, I will be at the Epica hafla mentioned in the raffle thread. At the very least, I'll be MCing :)

On April 25 I will be dancing at the TRIBAL CARAVAN PRE-PARTY at Froggys!!! Woooohoo, I'm so excited!
April 26th my student troupe will be performing at the TC main event....and boy-O do we have a great routine kicked up for you all!!!! If you miss it, you're crazy!

OK, ok, technically there is nothing vintage about this lol. The beads are new, and the rings are relatively new :) But it had such an old-time, classic feel to it when I got done!

It's made from copper and black AA, with gorgeous beads. The beads have a glittering copper-toned thread through them that absolutely sparkles when light hits it, and these dainty little "flowers" that look like roses to me :)

Again, pictures just don't do it justice!

OK I named this one in honor of my hubby. I put the necklace on, and turned to him to ask what he thought of it. He just got his ham radio license, and he had just finished building a big old copper antenna, so took one look at this copper confection and said: Wow, that looks like my antenna! Do you think I could get reception with that?

Yes, I married him on purpose lol.

So, made from copper and black shell dangly bits, and dedicated to my crazy hubby :)

This one is so absolutely beautiful IRL...it is a combination of gold and bronze colored anodized aluminum, and copper rings, with a beautiful gold-toned shell pendant. I looked through a pile of these pendants, and they were almost all that pearly silver-black color....then I saw this one. I squeaked in the middle of the store lol. It is so beautiful and rich, the pictures really don't do it justice....and check out the cool weave! I don't know if I made this one up first, or if someone else has done it, but it's the only one I have seen like it hehehehe :D

These are my zig-zag twins! They are made from gorgeous bright and anodized aluminum, in a fun, intricate zig-zag pattern. I had so much fun making the first one, I made a second :D hehehe!

Ice Falls

This is an all-metal overskirt. It is made from chainmaille and 3 different types of chain, as well as circular pendants to accent the ends of the "seams" and the "tassles".

It is SO SPARKLY and eye-catching IRL! I am rather in love with it myself :)

Woo ha!

I got home from a VERY exciting night out (one word: WHISKEY!) to find a package on my bed!

My two pair of Sweeney Mitts and my BEAUTIFUL blood sacrifce part deux choker are here!! I am currently typing away wearing my red mitts, and my choker! (no that's not all, you crazy people! lol) My blue mitts are getting jealous, i'd better put them on for a while.
