i'm a 17 year old teenager, in the midwest. I have had CED since i was born and i googled it one day and found this. I have been taking cozar and steriods for about six months now with physical therapy. My quality of walking has improved alot, i am still unable to walk long distances, so i resort to a wheelchair when i go to a big mall or a fair. I have bouts of pain here and there, as of right now i am in one of them. I blame it on the growth spurts i have been going through. I hope to get to know you all and learn more about this disease and how you guys cope with it.

Re: Hi, i'm new and i have CED
Mon, September 3, 2007 - 7:46 PMHey Tad!!
Welcome to our tribe! Its really great to meet you.
We hope that you make some great friends here (i must admit we are a rather friendly albeit slightly crazy group!!), and please ask as many questions as you wish for we are usually only to happy to help.
We discuss things such as - living with CED, treatments that have (or haven't) worked well (including medications and/or natural therapies), ideas to help prevent or ease the pain, and any current research or trials being conducted.
We talk about random stuff besides CED, including our family, friends, holidays, interests, favourite music, movies, etc. Then we also use MSN to chat online, although because we live in various parts of the world it can be very difficult to time it just right for even 3 of us!! I recommend emailing Chris if you want to join in as she is an expert at figuring out several timezones at once.
Mostly this tribe is about supporting each other with encouragement, compassion and empathy during the tough times. Its nice to know that you are no longer alone, even though this illness can be very isolating.
When i have trouble sleeping because of severe pain i know that i have Chris to call on who keeps me company until the early hours of the morning by chatting away and sharing her wicked sense of humour - that to me is invaluable. So definitley feel free to have a winge when the pain is at its worst, because we all do at some stage!
Welcome once again Tad. Have a great week.
Cya,
