Environmental degradation seems to be accelerating and has assumed planetary scope – mass extinctions (human activity equaling an asteroid hit), oceanic “dead zones,” global warming, bleached coral reefs, vanished rainforests, watersheds poisoned by mercury and hydrocarbons, the prospective loss of the oceans as a place where fish can live(!), and even a great plume of smoke from China’s power plants befouling the High Sierras.

This tribe is devoted to discussing environmental law and protection in order to increase our awareness and identify opportunities for activism. There's a lot to discuss: environmental problems, scientific studies, legislation, enforcement by the executive branch, new court cases, and citizen pressure on private industry and governmental entities.

All are welcome, even environmental lawyers.
