Our state renaissance festival takes place the same weekend as war and is on the same route as war so be mindful that if you drive on the 60 from about 7 a.m. till about noon you will hit some traffic. The troopers are good about making their traffic veer right and drive by traffic moving a bit faster but during peak ties, you may hit some traffic. Also in the evening hours if you pass that same area heading west, be mindful of the drunk drivers.

Re: driving to war warnings
Sun, February 10, 2008 - 9:07 PMSimplest advice: once you hit Gold Canyon, that's after Apache Junction where the 60 takes a turn and narrows to two lanes, stay to the left. You only need to worry about this on the days the Faire are open, which will be Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday this week. Signs are pretty clearly marked and there should be big road markers. If you stay in the right lane, you will eventually be herded into Renn Faire.

Re: driving to war warnings
Sun, February 10, 2008 - 10:12 PMThanks for reminding us about Ren Faire and the drive out to Estrella War. I remember getting caught up in the traffic last year. You're right, definitely stay to the left lane outside of Apache Junction and it won't be as bad.
Stay safe and have a great war.
Love,
