i just got some amazing bracelets in but they have a lot of calcium build up in the crevices. i was wondering what the best way to get this off would be? i know a lot of jewelry can be cleaned using the ol' toothpaste method but this stuff is really hard & in there.

Tue, June 2, 2009 - 4:13 PMit's a chalky white substance & in the past i've been told it's a calcium build up. they are a metal alloy of some kind. i think they may be silver plated but not 100% silver or anything. i did read some of the other posts but nothing that seems to specifically point out this stuff so i figured i'd get some opinions on here -

Tue, June 2, 2009 - 10:55 PMI was just going to suggest some kind of an acid, but since I haven't actually dealt with removing calcium deposits on metal before I thought I'd google it to confirm. Just found out the white deposits on your shower head are calcium deposits! Also found this that may be helpful:
