Have any of you experienced eye dryness while taking ayahuasca or san pedro (like with marijuana or alcohol)? Especially if wearing contacts?

AND, if one was to take out contact lenses/take off glasses, would vision be in or out of focus?

THANKS!

    Yes, sometimes.
You might be developing dry-eye syndrom. I suggest using gel eyedrops to eliminate the dryness and help restore your vision whenever you experience these symptoms.

Belladonna causes extreme eye dryness and a lot of visions. Not psychedelic visions as much as seeing regular looking people and things that simply aren't there. Like lighting a non existent cigarette with a non existent lighter.

I really can't say that i recommend the experience. A little too much, i think, can cause blindness, and the thirst is intense.

      AND DEATH

I overdosed on belladonna about 13 years ago, and had to have my heart jump started with the electric paddles.... I was young and stupid and uneducated about the plant... I don't recommend it.... Dosage can be so variable depending on the part of plant ingested, the season, the soil, etc.... and like I said it can kill you.....

I felt like a zombie for months after that experiance... very dissociated from my body. I do see it as a valuable life experiance, I don't really have any regrets, but I was lucky.... and much more cautious and mindful of substances.... do your research before experimenting ......

I had to learn that lesson hard way.......

    ROFLMFAO :)))

Only if you wear contact lenses/glasses on your psychi'

The universe is mental' all is in the mind'

Of what you see on a psychadelic experience has no thing to do with your eyes' your eyes see no thing at all' it is your brain/mind that does the veiwing'
That is of why it is called a "Psychedelic" of the psyche'
    No a "Eyedelic"

Cheers for the big smiles here bro' :)))

Take your contacts out before journeying' and get some eye drops'

    Safe journeys

Nobuoni, do you wear prescription eye wear?

Your post has a lot of good info, I've found that for a certain period of time after using certain substances in a ritually encoded format, that I can percieve the world around me more accurately (including eyes shut times, or dark environments). It's part and parcel of activating functions that are asleep in mundane awareness.

But having worn glasses for almost two decades, I can find a bias towards optical programming even in my non-enthegenic states.

The frames of my glasses are present optically, even with my eye's closed.

That is a separate function from the "boost" on functioning under the effect of the psychoactive class of substances, but has a key role in how individuals process their experience "under the influence".

I'm not arguing with you, but advocating a specific point of view.

Heck, taking off my glasses can be a psychedelic experience, given the level of my prescription.

I'd say, playing with the entheogen in question, have fun with "Glasses on, Glasses off", and "Eye's open, Eye's closed".

The pun on the last half of that statement is unintentional, but might be fun in this context.

        "Rimblinkers"

Yes I used to get this also' so I changed to contacts'

I can no see anything anyways eyes open when I journey' usualy the room is dark' bar the light of a candle or two'
The light of my inner eye lights everything up for me' eyes closed' enabling me to view through the centre of my forehead'
No the same as eyes open' but a deffinite shape to everything in the room'
I now no require of any substance to see shapes and people in the dark'
People shimmer the likes of flowing crystal water' objects have a very faint silver line around them'

With or without seeing aids' it becomes a way of seeing'

I use something called "Pearl drops" (I believe they contain a smal amount of witch hazel plus other herbs)
They clear the whites of the eyes instantly and dispel itchyness when tired'

I have never noticed RIMA's to make my eyes sore' mushrooms sometimes' but that may be me just straining to see this realm from the otherside of the veil'

Blessings and good energies to you'
