I thoroughly enjoy this plant as well. The extract and chewing fresh leaves are great. Truly rewarding plant to grow as well.

Have seen the seeds onlie. Is it easy to grow? Have just received some inebriating mint seeds. Has anyone grown them? I'm very excited about Kratom. There must be so many people that would benefit from this amazing tree.

It's OK. It was a bit disappointing though. Not that it was bad, I just expected more.

Myb it affects people differently. I wasn't expecting very much. Was like having a line of coke and a spliff at the same time. Was blissed out for ages, or myb the quality varies. I got mine from the I am shaman shop. Tried the 10x extract was good, but the dried leaf was also really good.

its not exactly a 'kratom tea' but my most effective results using kratom have been in creating synergy with other plants... the most successfull tea we have produced and shared goes something like this:
equal parts kratom, narrow leaf khat, yerba mate..... this stuff is absolutely divine and we endured many ours of blissed out euphoric intermingling of consciousness in a group setting... Very sociable and very 'e' like... it was also pointed out to me by a notorious ethnobotanist friend to have pharmacology similiar to the 'herbal e's ' that got around for a while..
        enjoy
p.s- also quality varies immensly and their are quite a few discreditable suppliers out there putting parvifolia out as speciosa... however there are also a lot fo people doing the right thing, Sometimes ive heard ageing it helps build up mitragynine

Sounds like a great combination! I have two of the ingredients but it's really hard to get Khat in the uk. Could try Ephedra instead as I have just ordered some on the net. Does anyone know if Kratom and Ephedra would be a safe together?

Not a lot of reliable info on kratom pharmacognosy out there. While it is unlikely that there would be a serious interaction between the two, I'd advise against it simply because negative reactions to ephedrine are common when comnined with many ordinarily innocuous plants/drugs (caffeine and cannabis, for starters.)

so hey pan!!! did you grow the plant?? fresh seeds will be here soon...very soon!!

For those of us completely unfamiliar with "Kratom" here are two websites with info. Also, I have included a photo in the album.

Kratom is a tree native to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and elsewhere). Its botanical name is Mitragyna speciosa. Kratom is in the same family as the coffee tree (Rubiaceae). The leaves of kratom have been used as an herbal drug from time immemorial by peoples of
Southeast Asia. It is used in folk medicine as a stimulant (at low doses), sedative (at high doses), recreational drug, pain killer, medicine for diarrhea, and treatment for opiate addiction.
    www.sagewisdom.org/kratomguide.html

While the main alkaloids in kratom are structurally related to psychedelics, there appears to be no psychedelic activity. The dominant effects seem to be similar to opiate drugs, and include analgesia and cough suppression. These effects are roughly comparable in strength to codeine.
    www.erowid.org/plants/kra...info1.shtml

Botanically and chemically, kratom is closely related to yohimbe. Other relatives include cat's claw, with which it shares several active chemicals, coffee and cinchona (the source of quinine).

Please tell me more!!!! Any experiences worth describing? What about legalities?

I am very enthusiastic about Kratom and would describe the experience as blissfull and euphoric. I was quite taken aback when I first tried it, as I wasn't expecting such profoundly enjoyable effects. One thing I have found is there seems to be a huge difference in the potency of different batches. I think it is legal almost everywhere, apart from Thailand!

    Greetings,
We have a nice Kratom plant here, and also offer a Spagyric extract of it. I've used it quite a bit, and like it very much. Here, we call our Spagyric Kratom "Magically Perfect Day", because no matter how sh*tty your day has been, you take a litte, sit back, take a deep breath, and sigh "that wasn't such a bad day after all!"

I like the Kratom-Khat-Mate idea, that would be a nice uplift but the Kratom would smooth out the edges of the other two. Good idea!

I have heard from a few people that Kratom can be tricky, that she pretends to be a better friend than she is, that is, she beguiles you to an addictive or dependent state. I will say that back when I had a stressful job I did find myself taking some Kratom every day after work, with it being as relaxing and unwinding as something like a beer or glass of wine, but never as intoxicating or muddling. At the time, I wondered about the warnings of addiction, but as soon as I left that job, I found I didn't need the Kratom as much, and, anyway, was probably better off than I had been if I were drinking every night.

Now, I use Kratom to enhance already positive feelings, when I am in a good relaxed mood with not much pressing to do, looking forward to a casual day in my garden, or the like. It enhances and stretches out the relaxed aspect of a Sunday-morning-type laziness, but without actually making me lazy or inactive (if that makes any sense!).

    Strength & Wisdom,

Howdy Paul! This is me! I got you the shilajit and the banesteriopsis. I want people to know that this guy makes the best mellisa and the best raulwolfia and has actually improved on saffron! I can get better prices on bali kratom than ANYONE! I will bring some down to Eugene next time I am down. Do you still have the mercury lingam? Do you still have the metiorite rings? Big surprise that your spagyric of kratom makes people feel great. You could make a spagyric of goat droppings and that would cure the blackest of black bile!

Hi Phil, like the cat thing. From what I understand, Kratom has a biphasic response curve, stimulating and analgesic at lower doses, sedating and opiate like at higher doses. Erowid and Wikipedia both have good write ups of the different chemicals thought to be responsible for the effects. At the 4g dose, I gather it is stimulating. I think one of the problems with these 10X and 20X preparations is that its hard to find the right dose, unless you dilute it up. 4grams of 20X...lets see, 1gram equals 5 grams of leaf, but the strength of the leaf also varies...lets see...

is selling this tincture. I will let you know what its like when it comes. The site came recommended from someone on this board...
The other thing about Kratom is that it is potentially habit forming, so I would approach it wisely.
    Take care

The people who sell K juice buy it from Z-eclectic or speciosa specialists. Both of those companies sell this for cheaper. Cheeper yet, buy from the people they buy from...... I do. The leaf is surprisingly powerfull and the complex constituents have opiate adiction BLOCKERS!!!! One spoon ful is enough to have a lot of fun! Anyone wants wholesale prices on Kratom let me know.

Hi, I'm new here and hope it's O.K. to jump right in and ask a question. I realize this post was over a year ago but was hoping you could post the place you get kratom from that mightis less expensive than Z-eclectic. I don't know much about kratom yet and have only tried Maeng Da, Thai and Malaysian (the first from Ebay and the other 2 from Loveleafgarden). I am especially interested in what you posted about the complex constituents having opiate addiction BLOCKERS.

Thanks for any info or suggestions and I look forward to getting to know people here.

Yeah, I ate 2 grams of 20x once, then i got some maeng da whole leaf I figured that i could then take 40 grams, and was prepared to do so. but a little warning light went off in my head, danger, danger will robinson. So I cut it down by 2/3, ate about 13 grams, WAY too much.

My partner is has just begun treatment with Suboxone to overcome his addiction to kratom. It is not to be toyed with, he found it to be a very affective antidepressant, and helped relieve his arthritis pain but he could not stop. Be forwarned.

                        Suboxone ®
Suboxone ® is mainly used in opiate detoxification to inhibit the craving for opiates and minimize withdrawl symptoms. The primary active ingredient in Suboxone ® is buprenorphine. Because buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist, its opioid effects are limited compared with those produced by full opioid agonists, such as oxycodone or heroin. Suboxone ® also contains naloxone, an opioid antagonist

I have found that kratom and kava complement each other very nicely, especially at lower doses. The kava seems to milden that simultaneous "up/down" effect of kratom which bothers many folks. However, the kava does not affect the kratom's aphrodisiacal effects, at least in my experience. I prefer Fiji kava powder; while not the most powerful of kavas, it is for me the most pleasant and euphoric.

I have found that it is best to watch the dosage with kratom - negative effects can ruin the experience if too much kratom is consumed. Also, resistance to kratom develops rapidly, and there is the addictive potential as well. Consequently, limiting kratom consumption to one time per week (or less) is probably a good idea.

Kratom effects can be "fine tuned" with lots of different substances, including red poppy and various herbs, many of which also improve the flavor. There is an active kratom group over on Yahoo with lots of recipies and other info. groups.yahoo.com/group/kratom/
