I want to do more business, but am only able to attend a few fairs each year (asking off for work is an act of congress!). I still haven't jumped into an Etsy shop, but am eyeing it hard.

My biggest concern at the moment is, if I list items on Etsy, what do I haul to fairs? Can I take things to the fair that are listed online? Change listings online of things sold when I get back? Don't vend things listed online?
One seller in particular. I report at lest one of thier auctions daily. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5810683

How do we get etsy.com to pay attention to what is going on? And actualy view what is happening, and have them not think I am trying to be vindictive??? I have emailed listing violations, I have emailed etsy.com complaints. Where else do we go with this?

I am small time, very small time. But if you view the prices on these items that are being sold from india, there is NO WAY that they can be created and sold for a profit if they were one of a kind hand made items and not mass produced.

I have emailed this company myself, and get rude remarks back, saying that they will keep doing it, and if etsy.com shuts them down, they will open up under a new name.

Where else to go? It isnt fair to any seller on etsy.com to have people trying to turn it into ebay by undercutting prices and knowingly breaking rules.

I have made it a point to shop Etsy before anywhere else the past few months, and I am so thrilled with the quality of people and products I've come across. When I opened my shop in March I just wanted to hurry up and set up shop, I contacted an Etsy vendor to make my banner and avatar, it was OK, but I recently decided to jazz it up a bit and contacted another Etsy vendor to make me a new banner, avatar and business card design. She was so great in working with me until I was happy with everything, she was in constant communication, and she was FAST. So, if anyone is looking for banner/avatar design service, I highly reccommend Deon at The Banner Queen. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5435336

I take all of the pictures myself, as I can't afford to hire someone else to do it -- and I generally feel that they (a) aren't very eye-catching, and (b) don't really capture how beautiful these items are in person. They look rather drab in the photos compared to how lush they look in person.

Since I don't have the funds to hire a professional photographer (the catch-22 of being a start-up), does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to make my photos more interesting, lush & appealing - while still conveying all of the information about the items that I need to?

Hey all! I am not sure how often people check in with Etsy, but they have now added a store policy's page that did not exist before. So I spent quite a bit of time rehashing my policies in my bio and moving them all over to the new page that is specifically for that information. I am happy for the new area devoted to this so people don't always have to go digging through bios! Just thought I would post this here so people can update quickly and not look like abandoned stores.
Just introducing myself.
Well, I finally decided to try to make of go of this idea. After about a year of playing around with different designs, I came up with one that I think works very well. I call them Zlip-ons! They are elastic-less zill mufflers. They slip right on and stay put. And you don't have to worry about any elastic needing to be replaced.
The colors I have right now are purple, black, neon green, turquoise, red, dark green, hot pink, and white. If you'd like a different color just let me know.
$5 for a set of 2
$9 for a set of 4

Let me know if this link doesn't work.
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5282115

I also make the mufflers with elastic if that's what you'd prefer.

The main thing keeping me from setting up shop on Etsy is lack of pics of my stuff. We have a dinosaur digi-cam, which I'd like to bury in the backyard! I haven't tried taking pics of my clothing yet, but it sucks for pics of my jewelry. I had a friend do a photo shoot of some of my work, but the files are enormous, and won't even load to tribe.

I'd like to pick up an inexpensive digi-cam for myself, but have no idea what I'm looking at! Do any of you have advice on cams that may work well for jewelry, as well as clothing? I'm hoping for something within the $200-300 range, nothing fancy. (Not like my pal's $4,000 camera!)

Thanks in advance for tips and info!
