My name is Christina (aka Jesus Chris), and I need a ride for me, a backpack, and a box out to the playa. I'm hoping to get there on Monday. I am the co-creator of iUniverse camp, we're at 7:30 and Bonneville. We'll have a big 40 foot interactive mural, shade structure, shower, kitchen, a few events, and vegetarian breakfast and dinner every day. If you're interested in sharing a ride in exchange for camping w/ us, we can definitely work that out. If you've already got plans of your own but have a little extra room and need help w/ gas money, then I'm your lady.
I need to figure it all out soon though, otherwise I'm afraid I'll purchase a plane ticket to Reno, but I'd much rather rideshare. So please give me a call on my cell at (520)664-8077 if your interested, or email me at deftonedinzion@hotmail.com
See you on the playa!

Well holler at me if you got a ride and it sounds like I'm interesting enough we can converse more! I'll be back in Eugene for the 16th - 22nd of this month if you'd like to meet up and chill out for a bit and talk. My friend bailed on me and got me super amped about going and now I don't got a ride but I'm not willing to not go to burning man this year because I got way too excited for it and I refuse to be let down and I know I'll regret not going. I'm also going to Monolith, Emergensee and shambhala(I have no idea why I threw that in there but I did so :P)

We will be traveling in a very tight 2002 Toyota 4-runner, and will in all liklihood be pulling a small trailer. So there will be plenty of room for your water, fuel, bike, camping gear, etc. We are definitely herb friendly (and friendlier if you bring some too). And also we have lots of great music ranging in everything from Progressive House to Reggae and the Grateful Dead and then on again towards pschedelic trance. At this point the plan will be to stop down in Ashland overnight (we'll get a suite, at no expense to any of us, at the Windmill Suites), and fill up water tanks at Ashland Springs (free good clean water), arriving on the Playa early Monday morning. The plan is to leave Monday after the burn and most likely stay at the Windmill Suites again to shower off the Playa dust and regroup before making the final 3 hour drive back up to Eugene on Tuesday morning. If this sounds good to you please contact us here on Tribe

With members from Frank Zappa, Oingo Boingo, and a sexy stage show straight from the desert sands of Burning Man, this is a show you should not miss.

The hard part is that I leave on tour in a week, and I'll be going to Black Rock directly from the East coast. I have the bike, it's ready, I just need some kind soul to step forward and say "I have space for an extra bike when I go." Is that kind soul you?
It would help me so much, and I wouldn't have to walk everywhere with my Fire-dancing stuff while I'm out there. So whadaya say?

Escape Plans Unlimited is proud to announce their second workshop in the Creative Deconstruction series.

The newest workshop in the series is entitled "The Life Force Moves."

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore your mind and body in greater depth than you may have previously thought possible. Join Jack Wild as he guides you through a series of body movements and expressions, all designed to give you a deeper sense of the life force moving within and around you.

You will learn an abundance of body movements and expressions that you may use for the rest of your life.

Just a few of the benefits of this work are:

-reduction of stress

-greater relaxtion

-deeper awareness of your moods and energy level

-richer experience of the forces at play in your body and mind

-a deeper appreciation of your own body

-much, much more.

Information is everywhere, but true knowledge is information in motion. This workshop will help you learn how to take the information you encounter and turn it into living knowledge.

Creative Deconstruction: The Life Force Moves will be held on:
Saturday January 19 from 1:11-3:33pm with time in the middle for a break and brief discussion at:

Maitreya Ecovillage strawbale house
1641 W. Broadway in Eugene.

RSVP to johnnynativeseed@yahoo.com

Act fast, as space is limited to about 15 people.

Creative Deconstruction is an introductory experimental workshop. For a limited time, it is offered on a donation basis in order to educate people about the work. If you learn something, donate something.

One final note: this work can be physically and mentally strenuous, in a manner similar to hatha yoga. It is understood and expected that you take full responsibility for your own health and wellness. As such, it is recommended that you take any precautions necessary before undertaking this, or any course of strenuous activity. When doing new physical exercises, be gentle and be sure to stop immediately if you experience pain.

Further work in radical undoing, bodyweight (non-machine, non-weights) conditioning, meditation and breath work, and customized Escape Plans can be obtained from Jack at hourly rates. Workshop attendees will receive $10 off for each session scheduled at the time of the workshop.

Next month we will be trying out a larger space, with preference given to those who attend The Life Force Moves.
We look forward to seeing all of you there!
With TOA MIA this year, and confusion about "Camp Arachnid" vs "Arachnia's Web", I thought a tribe would help all of these camps promote events, recruit campers, even coordinate afterparties and mixers, as well as provide a way for any burners to connect, volunteer and share information.

The Orgasmateria Pleasure Lab will be scaling up for its fourth year on the playa, in anticipation of a bid for Esplanade frontage in '08.

I'm looking to recruit a core of 10 or so committed Orgasmateers to coordinate the work of perhaps a couple of dozen other campers and volunteers sharing managable responsibilities for workshops, decor/ambiance, ice runs, etc.

Ideally, this core will include about five experienced Dominatrixes who, in addition to cracking the whip in camp management, would participate in workshops for straight girls wanting to experiment with submitting to a Domina, coupled girls who want to spank their boys (or see them spanked), and vanilla girls wanting to learn how to whip their boys into shape.

Though certainly fem-centered, the Orgasmateria is not a FemDom camp, per se. These workshops will compliment our existing slate of Princess Reform School workshops, which help sub-curious ladies and couples introduce D/s play into the bedroom without upsetting the power balance of the overall relationship.

The overall bent of the Orgasmateria is towards pleasure rather than pain -- but pleasure so intense you may have to be tied down to sit still for it. The tone is less intimidating than the more hardcore bondage camps and is geared to provide a nontreatening entry point for kinkurious vanillas. Fittingly, our decor is more pink and sparkly rather than black and spikey -- think Barbie's Dream Dungeon...

In addition to Princess Reform School, other workshops and events offered by Orgasmaterias past include:

Erotic Tickling (partners take turns blinding, blindfolding and tickling each other)
Continuous Female Orgasm (clitoral massage)
Shejaculation (squirting how-to)
Queer Tips for Straight Lips (learn oral sex from the ultimate experts)
Grin and Bare It (public nakedness for the shy)
Naked Gun (high noon naked watergun fight)
Sexcrafts (sextoy-making workshop)

New features we hope to add next year:

Nightly "Kinkurious" mixers
Late-Nite Freeplay
Dawn foot wash/rub
Moring Wake-Up Spankings (paddles-n-coffee!)
Afternoon Bodypainting
The Miss Orgasmerica Pageant
Spank Your Man!
Sumbissive Explorations for Bi-curious Girls
Finding Your Inner Bitch (Domina workshop)
Naked Newbie Scavenger Hunt

If you'd like more info on any of the above, just ask. And if you're intersted in camping with us next year, let me know ASAP.

In addition to a few good Dominas, we're particularly looking to recruit experienced body painters, service-oriented submissives, nudists, people with experience running a bar on-playa, and of course, Skinsationaut Cadets willing to surrender their bodies to science for testing/demonstrating our latest sensual toys and techniques, and expanding the frontiers of the Pleasurescape.

Viva la Orgasmateria!

But I'm looking for the cheapest situation possible. I might even be able to send some of my stuff with other people if you can squeeze me in. You can even squeeze me, if you're sitting next to me!

If anyone is into hoop dance, I have some skillz, developed over years of practice. Swear. I could give you private lessons on the playa. I could make you a hoop. I could do both. I could also just give you gas $ -- trying to barter first, though.

Here's my myspace page for hoop referal (if you're into that). I moved here from Detroit, so some of you don't know me. But please contact me off-list if you can help me!

Price is $20 per class, $35 for both. Corestar dojo is located at 439 W. 2nd. Contact Dustin to register: dustin.hubel@gmail.com -- Contact Revolva if you want a set of poi hoops for the poi hoops class ($10) or instructions on how to make your own (26" across).

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS AND DUSTIN'S BIO:

2-4 Spinning with Hoops - The Basics
This workshop focuses on the basics of spinning poi with hoops. Proper ways to grip the hoops, turns, transitions, weaving, and butterfly variations will be covered. Limited amount of practice hoops available. Bring your own hoops (26" across) or contact Revolva over tribe/at jonesing@hotmail.com if you need some hoops.

6-8 Intermediate to Advanced Poi - Spinning with Geometry
This workshop is meant to introduce a system that breaks down and simplifies even the most complicated poi patterns by giving spinners an understanding of planes, timing and direction, antispin, and compound circles. All of these concepts are then brought together using 'focus points', a prototype concept for Dustin's forthcoming instructional video. This will be the siteswap of poi. Also to be covered: Turning techniques, pirouettes, flowers, isolations, and airwraps.

Dustin is new to the Portland area. He has performed on stage at the 2006 International Jugglers Association 'Tricks of Light' show, has been featured on the Ministry of Manipulation website, and garnered quite a bit of attention in the online community through his hoop manipulation videos.

One week from today, hoop master Baxter will be Eugene, teaching a three-hour intensive hoop dance workshop. (See class description below). Baxter is very well known in the world of hoop dance and is prominently featured in the upcoming hoop dance documentary "Hoop: A Revolution of Sorts." The class will be at Corestar dojo from 2-5 p.m., Sunday Feb. 25. Price is suggested $40, with a sliding scale down to $25 for hoopers in need of financial assistance.

This is a really great opportunity if you feel drawn to the hoop. I'll also be hosting a dinner afterward, and all workshop participants are welcome to come eat good food, chat and have a beer with Baxter. Contact me as soon as possible if you'd like to register.

INTRODUCTION TO THE HOOP PATH

This 3-hour intensive will introduce you to the inspiring myths and powerful metaphors of The Hoop Path, a spiritual approach to hoopdance that has slowly built itself out of Jonathan Baxter's years of daily Hoop Practice. Bax's teaching incorporates prayerful guidance and unique storytelling as well as the straightforward breaking down of moves and practice of new techniques. This workshop is for those of us who already feel a connection with Hooping that goes far deeper than pure fitness, or for those hoopers who yearn to deepen and expand their Practice into subtler levels of awareness and grace. Together we will define and explore Hoop Path terms such as: pe*A*ce, Ritmo, One Tree/Two Tree, Samurai, and Point; as well as established techniques such as Rolling, Reversing, Breaks, Vertical and Angle Hooping.

I just moved here from Detroit to get my MFA at UO. Actually, I packed up all my stuff, stopped at Burning Man, and then drove straight to Eugene. Very shocking. I only half know a few people in my program. Anything exciting going on? Especially related to dancing/hooping/fire hooping? I'm hoping that Eugene is like Detroit, in that you have to know where you're going to find the interesting things hidden beneath the surface. Without the danger of being mugged/shot, of course. But so far, it seems a little sleepy.

Hello Eugene Burners, this is Matty from The Mutaytor here. We are a performance art and music group that was founded in Black Rock City in 1998, and our show is coming to Eugene for the first time in a few weeks. We wanted to say hello, and reach out to all of the burners in your area to invite you to come and check out our show first hand. We've never played there before, and if you have any suggestions for local promotion, burner DJ/band to open up for us, or good newspaper/radio/e-lists to announce our show...we'd love to have your feedback.

Here's a bit more info from us about our show, and my contact info is below if you have any questions or ideas!

The Mutaytor Eugene Debut- Thursday Oct 5th at Wow Hall

The Mutaytor plans to bring their multi-media ensemble across the country this fall and introduce their critically acclaimed show to audiences coast to coast. The Los Angeles based troupe features over 50 drums onstage and elaborate visual backdrops as well as fire spinners, Burlesque style dancers, anime characters, and hoop artists. Their unbelievably unique stage show is dazzling audiences across the west coast and beyond. With influences ranging from Blue Man Group & Crystal Method to P-Funk and Cirque De Soleil, The Mutaytor is poised to introduce their show to the masses.

Throughout the past year, The Mutaytor has garnered an impressive amount of press, accolades, and TV placements. They have been featured in The LA Times & BPM Magazine and received the 2005 LA Music Award for Independent Live Performance. The infectious grooves of "Give A Little Mo" and "On Fire Like This" can be heard in recent TV hits including Fox's 'House' and NBC's "Hawaii".

2006 has seen many amazing and unique opportunities come to fruition for The Mutaytor including appearances at corporate & sporting events as well as theatres, gaming conferences, and festivals. On the heels of appearances at the previous two Dem-X Awards, Billboard Magazine has again tapped The Mutaytor to be part of this year’s MECCA conference on April 4 in conjunction with CTIA. MECCA is one of the leading mobile content consortiums in the country and draws from all spectrums of the industry.

The Mutaytor continues to break new ground with their debut appearances in New York City this past April. The three-day run will kick off with an appearance at The Jammy Awards at the famed Theatre at Madison Square Garden on April 20. The following day, The Mutaytor will collaborate with Grateful Dead Drummer Mickey Hart during the ribbon cutting for The Green Apple Music Festival at The Grand Central Station Terminal.

Other highlighted events this summer include appearances at Paramount Studios, Wakarusa Music Festival, 10K Lakes Music Fest, Download Festival, and Massive Movies & Music in Snowmass, CO.

Don’t Miss The Futuristic Vaudeville Circus known as The Mutaytor coming to Wow Hall in Eugene on Thursday October 5th. Advance tickets are $12.00 and the venue website is www.wowhall.org

Howdy all,

Just wondering how people are getting the playa from Eugene. This will be my first time heading to the playa from here.
I googled the directions, which suggest going down Hwy 58 through Oakridge, then 99 to Klamath Falls, 39 to 139 and Alturas, next stop Gerlach.

Seems to me like that's the scenic route. I need water in Alturas, hopefully some filtered stuff instead of chlorinated tap water, but wet is preferable to dry.

Any tips on route appreciated. I think some folks boom down I5, then cut over. I see some spots to do that at Hwy 140 to Klamath Falls, or 89 at Mt. Shasta.

I'm driving a '78 VW bus, so flat and gentle is preferable to steep and scenic if you catch my drift. It will get me there, but would prefer to take the route that is easiest on the brakes.

TIA.
And arriving at Black Rock City the following day, having stayed over at some tasty hotsprings.
I will possibly/likely return to Eugene over one or two days (again, via springs), having left BRC the monday or tuesday of Sept 4th or 5th.
I am hauling parts to several art projects in an old pick-up so I am seeking one rider of fairly minimal baggage.
This person will also have to be able to enter the city earlier than official public access - a BLM heavily scutinized issue this year - or take their chances to be held up at the gate.
I love to talk but I also love a peaceful silence. I don't smoke cigs, or hold other offensive behaviors.
I'm not expecting anything from anyone who would join me, but would strongly encourage assist with fuel dues to the oil companies.
Age and gender inconsequencial.
Worse part: no music system - except possibly an evil boom box that has already injured one passenger.
One way / half of the roundtrip would be jake with me too.
