Who wants to hoop on top of Spencer's Butte?

The weather is warming. The days are lengthening. Suddenly, there could be infinite amounts of proposals such as this one and Aaron's call for campers. Hooray! But I'm serious. Sandy brought this up several months ago, and it was just too went and cold to pull it off.

Who's in?

When?

      Me, me, me... I'm in.
This weekend looks like rain but next weekend looks good. Should we just say let's do it next weekend and put it on the calendar?

Well, next weekend is Aaron's camping trip. We don't have to overlap, in case people want to do multiple things. How about the weekend of the 17th/18th?

Oops, I didn't realize it was the same weekend as Aaron's camping thing. The 17th/ 18th would be good for me.

And don't forget this Friday is the hoop jam at the dojo everyone.
Hope to see everyone Friday night.
          • I won't be here this weekend, I'm teaching in Bend, so I love the idea of the 17th or 18th for the hoopNhike.

Have fun at the hoopjam this friday! I'll miss you all!
            • Have fun in Bend, Kara! I'm sorry I missed your pre-juggling club call, btw. For future reference, I'm there pretty much every week (at varying arrival times), and you and Ari are always welcome to come out.

Now ... Spencer's Butte. Which day is better - Saturday the 17th or Sunday the 18th? Please vote.

And what do y'all think about having a picnic up there? Maybe we should also document our ascent so we can post a response to Kurt (Sandy's husband)'s "Climbing Spencer's Butte" video called "Hooping Spencer's Butte."

              Here's Kurt's climbing video, FYI:

              • Either day is good with me at this point but maybe Saturday would be better.
And I think a picnic would be fun. I think Kurt is planning to climb with us and he can video tape us and make a part 2.. :)
I'm looking forward to doing this. Fun fun fun..
                • Hi there!

Bend is lovely, but colder than Eugene. The drive is really pretty and there was tons of snow in the mountains driving up over the Cascades. I haven't been here in 4 years, not since before I lived in Eugene too, I need to actually come out here to play sometime though. I'm busy teaching all weekend.

Kari, I totally was planning to come hoop at the juggling club with Ari, but I was exhausted on Monday and didn't have the energy. I'm going to try for this Monday, Ari loves it, and he was bummed we didn't go this week.

Let's hoop and hike and picnic on the butte on saturday!
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
I was talking to Kari and we decided this Sunday would be good to climb Spencer's Butte. The heatwave should have passed and Kari will be in town. What time would be good to meet to climb the Butte? 2 pm? 3pm? And we still plan to have a picnic when we get to the top. Kurt, my husband, will be filming our journey.

                    Who is in?

                    • I hate to do this because I'm the one that brought it up. But I will definitely be in PDX this weekend, and the more I think about it, it might be kind of a crunch for me to drive back earlier on Sunday just to hike. It sounds do-able now. If I'm being realistic, though, once I get up there, I might not want to hurry back to Eugene.

Would anyone be willing to reschedule? If not, go ahead and do it Sunday -- and if I can make it, I will. Just don't want to promise.

                      Sorry for the change.
