Anyone know where is a good place to buy them...and then if there is a DVD out there that teaches them. My teachers don't do them. I'm sure it might be a little like veil but I'm not sure. Thanks!

Re: Isis Wings?
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 2:59 AMthe DVD i have is 'wings, the complete technique,a private lesson with Ayshe' it's pretty good... hope you have a big room to practice in! : )
it's very different to veilwork, but great for dramatic effect, really shows up any posture issues you have..... (which was good for me as it's an area I need to focus on anyway)
have fun and don't get too dizzy!
not sure where you can buy them over there tho'... I do have a pair spare but probably would cost too much to send them. xx -

Re: Isis Wings?
Sun, May 4, 2008 - 10:29 AMI have made a couple of sets of isis wings, if you don't want to spend the time pleating them, they go together very easily and fast.
The trick is to find fabric you like thats wide enough. I'll try to get a picture of the set I have here sometime today.
When I was shopping for a set I found that to buy them the average price was around a hundred bucks (not including exchange or shipping), to make them it cost me under 60. My next few I am making for my troupe I lucked out and caught a *very* good sale on the fabric, they will cost less than 25 bucks each!! I couldn't argue with that price. :0)
If you can make a circle skirt, or a half circle veil, isis wings are very similar.
