I just found your tribe, and thought I'd say hello!!!
I've been belly dancing for nearly six years, and I'm just starting to teach classes.

Fri, July 18, 2008 - 1:35 PMWell currently, I've taken over troupe rehearsals while my teacher is getting ready to have her first baby! :) I've been drilling basic movements, traveling steps, etc, and now I'm choreographing a sagat/zill routine...very few of the girls in the troupe are comfortable dancing and playing sagat at the same time, so I'm pushing them.
My classes that I'm starting in September will be Beginning Egyptian Dance. :) I come from a strong Classic Egyptian backround, so i will focus on that for starters. :)

Mon, July 21, 2008 - 1:56 PMHi --- Welcome! I lived in Las Vegas for 1 1/2 yrs ( left @ 5 yrs ago) --- I first started takilng belly dance lessons there from Yolanda, then a few Tribal from Lyn. I am totally hooked. Continued with lessons when I returned to Northern Calif Bay Area, carbaret and tribal. I am volunteer teaching a class at the local Sr Center as of this Oct., me being a sassy senior myself. I love the camradarie and community tthat this dance form offers, and I'll keep dancing til I drop! One of my present teachers says, 'Old dancer don't die, they just kick off!" Do you ever go to The Sultans Table club there is Vegas ? -

We used to have a "Drummers and Shakers" event there once a month, but that's kind of on hiatus. :)
The Vegas community has grown SO much, even just in the last 3 years that I've been here. I love my community! ;)
