where has all of the work gone

It seems that up here in sattle the work dried up, and abruptly at that. I licensed myself as a G?C to be able to get jobs, but the market is very competitive for what is available like sharks on chum, and wages are coming down significantly this year, or so it seems. Perhaps I was an employee so long that i am not in the know of whom is building the larger homes, but if there is a rope out there, throw me one.
