Does anyone in here know anything about the amazing wooden structure the Belgians built out at Burning Man this year? To me it was an extreme feet of carpentry...anyone else feel the same?

Thu, September 7, 2006 - 11:25 PMNot so much an extreme feat of carpentry , I mean except for the elements and site condidtions. it was very simply built, once the main frame parts went up like scalfolding the rest was just throwing the sticks on it following the curves. They used three 16 gauge 2 1/2" nails at each intersection, pneumatic guns, scissors lifts, cranes, the whole deal, fast work, and no real measuring. i mean its not like building a hipped roof. Still very cool. -

Fri, February 1, 2008 - 10:05 PMThe Uchronians page is a great source for short and off-beat but classy videos. When people ask what Burning Man is like , I direct them to that page for genuine flavor. Their other projects in other places are just as ambitious and well executed.
