Hey everyone,

I wanted to let you all know about a campaign up on thepoint.com right now.

It calls on UC students and alumni to pledge not to give post-graduate contributions to the UC until they sever ties to their two nuclear labs. Check it out:

https://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/university-of-california-stop-contributing-to-nuclear-weapons

The nuclear industry is notorious for its environmental and health impacts. Not only that, but the UC's lab management partner is now the corporation Bechtel! We have the power to demand that our university use its status as a prestigious public institution to say no to nukes and corporatization and yes to peace and sustainability.

I feel we can make a powerful statement if we all join together - let's make this thing happen! Hope you will take a look and feel free to spread the word on this campaign.

1. You’re department will benefit:
Increased social interaction – there are so many top 10 departments at Cal, but not very much interaction right now.
...Relationships can turn into collaborations, both social and academic.
2. We have a healthy budget, and are sponsored by the grad assembly - which gives us all sorts of license.
