'Brain Dead' is the alternate title of 'Dead Alive'. And yes, Peter Jackson directed them. 'Bad Taste' is pretty awful and stomach-churning. Worth seeing for only the most hardcore of Jackson fans. It has a charm, but it never quite stuck to me. If you do see it and happen to like it, you'd probably like 'Black Sheep'. It's along the same oddball premise, but no zombies. Only sheep. It's also from New Zealand.

The 'Zombi' trilogy (Fulci) is required viewing as well as the Romero trilogy. 'Land' and 'Diary' are okay. 'Dawn' (Snyder, 2004) is very strong. The '28' movies aren't really zombies, but recommended anyway.

There are so many! What are some of your faves? Also, read some of the threads here as some good movies are mentioned. :)

Good to hear from you. Thought you'd disappeared! :)

Did I mention 'Cannibal Holocaust'? Some really HARD-to-stomach scenes.

'Cannibal Holocaust' is the furthest from humorous one can get. I'm having a second thought about recommending it.

Try the popular video sites (Google, YouTube, etc.) is my best suggestion. I purchased my 'Cannibal' on eBay. 'Black Sheep' should be out soon, I'm sure. :)

Cannibal Holocaust is twisted to say the least. The first is the best, but the second wasnt bad either. With shots so gruesome the director was arrested for murder because some believed he actualy killed his actors to get the shots he needed. Its not a film for the squeamish.

LOL yeah its not a film I hear recommended to often :D Not for the faint of heart. Its one of thoes that is either loved or hated. Some to this day think its actualy a snuff film. Well she asked for something that would get under her skin. I dont think you could have named a better film to do just that. There are like 5 or 6 movies that claim to be sequels but none of them are offical. None like the first either.

if you are looking for zombie comedy... black sheep, fido, bio-zombie, dead and breakfast, the tripper, evil dead series, undeadidle hands, my boyfriend's back, american werewolf in london, and "return of the living dead" series (i love that... if the dead have already come back to life how can they return?)

but you might want the most violent and disturbing of zombie films.... which would include bad taste, brain dead/dead alive, etc.

but the comedy inherent in those films alters them from a traditional zombie film.... and it is a comedy horror....

                      like so..
