Second Raleigh Hoop Jam - Hoopers Needed!!!

Ya'll, tonight was fantastic! The weather was beautiful and it was so nice hooping on the soft grass, next to the medicine wheel filled with beautiful flowers, a different color for each spoke. Everything was so green and lush. This is going to be the best place for a hoop jam ever. Bring water and come out next Wednesday, 6:30 to dark (which is about 8:30).

Are you ready for this? We had seven incredible drummers come out! Seven. And they were amazing. They played all kinds of instruments in addition to drums. I was the only hooper from our crowd there but I brought lots of other hoops and quite a few people in the park hooped. Two people are definitely hooked -- a girl named Brittany and another woman whose name escapes me but I recognize when someone is hooked and these women were both hooked. It was delightful.

Because there were so many drummers, most of them gave the hoops a spin also while others drummed. They all did great. I hope they'll all keep hooping also.
.
I cannot tell you how delighted I was to dance to these remarkable drummers in this amazing park. It is so perfect! I begged the drummers to join us again next week and I promised more hoopers would be there. They issued a challenge: They want to see as many hoopers as drummers!!! So the gauntlet has been thrown! If we want them to keep coming, we have to turn out in equal measure!!! We can do it. It's too good an opportunity to pass up!!!

Tell me you'll be there next Wednesday.

Pullen Park - 6:30 til dark

Take Sidewalk around to right, outside the park and look for the Pavillion on the left.

    Hi Caroleeena,

Does it have to end at sundown? Is there any lighting available to keep it going a little longer?

It was pretty lit when I left but then it was almost a full moon. There is some light around there. We could give it a shot. It's just so beautiful there. I so hope you'll come out Lois. You would love it. Plus I want to tell you all about the Convergence!

Caroleeena, how about bringing your staff...I think Joe is coming...he's going out looking for a job today, but I'm hoping he'll still feel like coming out with me, afterwards...I know Brandi is coming with me...I'm trying to spend as much fun time with her as I possibly can...so, if I can get Joe to come, too it'll be one of the first times we've been out as a family in a long time...

I've got a stupid final tomorrow (it's my last one before graduation!!!), but I'm at least going to try to make a brief apperance tonight. I really, really, really, really, really wanna go!!!!!!!!!
          • SWEET! I'm so glad I went!!! It was really fun. There were about 10 hoopers (maybe more?)!!! And 3 drummers/flutes. Next week will be my last week until my month long camping trip, so I will totally be there! =)
            • I look forward to hooping with you again. Thank you for coming out last night! I think we also recruited about 10 hoopers, in addition to us. That was pretty cool too. I especially loved watching those Mexican teens (plus a little brother) come out of being shy and burst into, "I can do it! I can do it!" I hope they'll come back next week too.
              • *giggle*...That really was hilarious...the little boy was having so much fun...and the older boy that tried out the big hoop was just too rich...altho, I think he stopped because he was about to lose his pants...I feared for him...

That other little boy that tried out Joe's make-shift staff was really cute, too...he picked it up really well...I think it made Joe happy that he got the little boy hooked, so quickly...I told the Mom she might want to hide her broom when she got home...

Joe really does well with kids...he's always been good with them...his little cousins call him 'Bear', cuz he'll crawl around on the floor and growl at them...and when they were smaller, he'd ride them around on his back, while acting like a bear...he's really gonna make a wonderful Dad...little Josie is a lucky girl...
