I made this tribe awhile back, got busy with something else, determined that I would type in an introduction to it 'tomorrow.' That was a month ago. D'oh! Now I just realized that you guys have joined and here I am, introduction-less. So here goes.
This tribe is dedicated to all things Forgotten Realms: books, games (classic RPGs, video games, whatever), modules, fanfics, original stories, you name it. We can also discuss other Dungeon and Dragon settings, or even other d20 systems, if we want. Personally, I'm most familiar with Forgotten Realms, hence my choice to make this tribe.
As for myself, I'm a lifelong DnD player. I've played since 1st Edition (I think I was 10 or so when my parents finally let me join). I'm an avid reader, especially fantasy and R. A. Salvatore's excellent Drizzt books. I'm sure I could annoy the heck out of him with some of the inconsistancies I've noticed. ;) I love role playing games, with minitures or video games. I also love cartoons, even tho I'm 30 in Febuary. Well, I love well done cartoons. My fav is Avatar.
Welcome all and enjoy the tribe!

Re: Introduction to the Faerun Shrine
Tue, January 24, 2006 - 2:41 PMIf you're just starting R.A. Salvatore's stuff, I suggest starting with Homeland. Freaking great book. The first one he actually wrote was The Crystal Shard (Book 1 of the Icewind Dale trilogy). Next came Streams of Silver, and then The Halfling's Gem. The Dark Elf trilogy (Homeland, Exile and Sojourn) is a prequel to the Icewind Dale books. Then came the Quadrilogy, Legacy of the Drow. I could keep going on and on. It's a very long series. If you want I can list out the series in order. Wow, I really am a geek. ;-) (But you knew that with how bad I obsess over Avatar.)
Of course, you may already know all that and I completely bored you just now. D'oh!
"Plus you are just too cool."
*blushes* Thanks. Did me boring you take away any of the coolness? ;-)

Re: Introduction to the Faerun Shrine
Sun, January 14, 2007 - 11:58 PMYou guys would like play by email play at www.rpol.net .
Look under 'Fantasy' games and then find 'Realms of Adventure'. They have a separate pbemail game for each area in the Realms, and they always need more GMs and more players.
I'm running a psionics game there based in a rebel city on the Hlondeth border.
