What is Krynn... is that the continent? Planet? I dont' ever remember having it explained.. Faerun is the bigger area that Krynn is a part of?
Someone help!!! lol..
And how does DragonLance fall into it, if at all (I remember the game NeverWinter Nights mentioning a Kender in the description of a bag of holding (said it was from another realm..)

Re: Question....
Thu, February 2, 2006 - 9:02 AMI'm pretty sure krynn is the dragonlance realm and Faerun the Forgotten Realms one? I;m not exactly sure how dragonlance falls into it, most likely a different dimension of some sort.. -

Re: Question....
Fri, February 3, 2006 - 10:34 AMKrynn is the Dragonlance world, and Faerun is the Forgotten Realms world. They're very different. Dragonlance is loosely based on D&D rules, while Forgotten Realms is more true to them. I'm not sure the original DL authors actually played D&D, or just grabbed a Player's Handbook and made it up from there.
Don't get me wrong, I love the two original DL trilogies (Chronicles and Legends). They're some of my favorite books. But they're just not very true to the rules at the time (should have been 2nd edition, aka AD&D). They made up the kender race and very few of the spells they used actually existed. Again, I absolutely loved the original Dragonlance trilogies. They're well written, exciting and with great characters.
And I'm not saying Forgotten Realms stays 100% true to the D&D rules. They're just closer. -

Re: Question....
Tue, February 7, 2006 - 7:49 PMOh... well no offense anyone but I don't give a frack as long as its good writing. Which it is. So yea as far as I'm concerned screw the rules- and yes teh original authors did play D&D..because I research authors. -

Re: Question....
Wed, February 15, 2006 - 7:10 PMAnd if it hasnt been brought up yet the Chronicles trilogy of Dragonlance was born in a D&D campaign that Tracy Hickman ran (not sure if Margeret Weis was involved in gaming). -

Re: Question....
Sat, March 25, 2006 - 6:50 PMOh good, I'm glad my memory wasn't failing me on that one. I was about to have to apologize to my gamers for looking stupid if I was wrong. LOL ALthought since one of them married me and the ohter shares half my dna, I think I would be forgiven by at least two if I had gotten confused.

Re: Question....
Thu, March 16, 2006 - 5:43 AMIsn't Toril the world of Forgotten Realms and Fearun is the continent? I am pretty sure that is right, I thought for a moment I was confusing it with Greyhawk, but that world is named Oerth. -
