Hey take a look at this book called Freedom and Nescesitty. Great stuff really I have just started it and it is great. These two are great writers on there own merit but they have created quite the work as a team. I also encourage anyone who hasn't read War of the Oaks by Emma Bull to give that a go, very much like deLint in its scope.

Last but not least, Luathas the Wild

(dedicated to my crazy stepbrother Jim, who had the little green booger as his imaginary friend;)

You perched atop his Big Wheel at the tender age of two
Saying, "Push it to the limit kid, let's see what you can do!"
And when he fell into the ditch you actually felt bad for him
Yet still you shrugged and said, "Tis what you get for following my whims."

At six you urged him on again to take a neighborhood dare
For .55 cents around the block on his bike with bottom bare
You hovered over him laughing as he flew, like the wind so free.
But not only did Jim not get the money, he fell and scraped his knee!

As he grew, so did your pranks, you two became a team!
From bikes to motercycles he went, with the engines that make girls scream
Ever atop his shoulder you perched, or on the hood of Dad's new car

"Take it to Reno or bust!" you shrieked, "and use his credit card!"

So off he went with his best friend, one of whom was green
With happy grins and bottles of gin, you all played the slot machines

But he was no winner when he got home and had to face our Dad
For he got the blame for both of you when Dad got really mad
Yet still, you stuck by him through the years to keep his impulses true
You were there when he fell off the cliff, saying "who needs ropes, they just won't do!"

You splashed through the waters of all his whitewater trips
You hovered over him whistling gleefully as he crossed the bridge that skips

So what good can possibly come of all this chaos in the end?
They can accuse you of being out of control, but never not being a faithful friend!

Tribute to Ta'Om the Poet

His name rings like a mantra of Freudian(or is that Froudian?) slips and unintentional puns. My sunshine silliness, my path less traveled.

His life and laughter flows through my pen,
He is my writer's muse, the patron saint of nightly inspiration, the shaman of shameless fae fun. The dancer of nature and speaker for the calls thereof.

We frolic in a meadow of rhyme with no reason, playing catch with each other's words

Then he throws me a rubber chicken and says, "Sometimes the best jokes are the worst."

And winks.

Before I can react, he pops out from behind a tree, then sticks out his head to speak to me.

"Don't chicken out!" he says with mirth, his laughter shrouding me with the soul of the Earth.

Summoning of the Selkie

(sorry I'm on such a poetry kick. Just ignore these if you get tired of reading them. Most of them are dedicated to different faeries in the Oracle book)

Seven tears must I shed
To awaken the Selkie from his seabed
One for lost innocence, two for lost love
Three for the rejection of those above
Four for the prison I'm forced to be in
Five for the fruits of original sin
Six for those who would steal what is mine
Seven for drinking the bitter cup of life's wine
Salt of my tears for the salty sea
Will the Selkie arise from this gift of me?

(Hm, when you look at the shape of this poem it looks kinda like a seal flipper...)

The Love Talker

Embodiment of dreams unfulfilled
His presence slips through me like the sands of Morpheus
He is the Soul of unrequieted love
His eyes reflect my soul and not his own
Where does one end and the other begin?

He is the razor's edge between water and fire
Fall over one side, you burn
The other, you drown

His words, ecstasy and insanity
His touch fire and ice
His kiss life and death
His sex heaven and hell

Which will you choose?
Can you?

He gathers power from the hearts he has stolen
Never to return

Love Talker, do you love?
Do you dream?

My poem, The Mask of Dreaming

Faerie is the wild side of Spirit
Each leaf i nthe forest I walk a mask of dreaming
Each element of nature a mystery
The spiral wind tugs at my feet
My soul

Pulling me down to the path

I know not where my feet go
Chasing that which is vaulted in the banks of trees
My lost self from the past, the spring of my life
The forest holds out my heart to me like a jewel from Heaven

I join in the communion of my heart and Theirs
A delicate balance between light and darkness
It calls me like a siren song
A walk between the worlds
Under this forgotten green canopy that stretches over me

The promise of spring and life frozen in time
With the darkness of the unknown\

Here I stand

Waiting

It's not just for locals anymore. I've turned into an autobiography of sorts, not just a meeting place for like minds. so if anybody is interested in reading about my secret life with the things that go bump(and flutter) in the night, come on over! Just a warning though, like Children of the Sun, some of the stuff will not be kid safe (partly for language, partly for descriptions of wild dalliances) so I won't be held responsible for any damage done to tender young minds who shouldn't be playing in an adult sandbox;)

I know it's been said a milliontimes, but i'd love to plop down into Lothlorien to live and learn with Tolkien's elves. Where else could you learn the history of the world and all of it's subtle magics? To me the Golden Wood has always seemed the ultimate idyllic location.
To live in DeLint's world with some of the Cousins to show me around the Otherworld would be quite a joy as well, though that fantasy seems more likely a reality than any :)

how about you ?
