pixie Great Circle

I received this to post from Dinkle Tinkle Do,
who is Food and Style Advocate General for the Portland Faeries,
and in the past acted as a pixie ambassador to the faeries.

PIXIE GREAT CIRCLE IN PORTLAND
January 18 till about the 21st

As the organization of Nomenus today suffers from a cancer of exclusion of which it is in denial about,
As the organization of Nomenus today has strayed far from it's original vision of creating a Sanctuary that is safe space for Gay men,
As the organization of Nomenus today is controlled by the hostile personal agendas of a few "radical" faeries who steer the organization of Nomenus for their personal benefit and advancement:
We of the perpetual twilight league of pixie arts and crafts
host our very own "Great Circle"
to giggle at such buggeries,
and to color outside of the lines.
We ask Nomenus to:
Stop being a tin man and find a heart.
Heart Circles are wise things that should not have been tossed aside as inconvenient.
Stop using the organization of Nomenus as a vehicle for some faeries in Nomenus roles of authority to spread gossip, rumors, and other psychic garbage against individuals in the faerie community which these officers choose to victimize.
Stop using the structure of the organization of Nomenus to exclude applicants to membership based on how a few individuals who are in power positions of Nomenus choose to judge said applicants.

Remember the truth and wisdom of subject/subject consciousness

We are currently working up flyers to leaflet the neighborhood with,
mail to the Great Circle neighbors,
and a press release version with contact information to submit to the local media.

For the love that dare not speak it's name:
dinkle tinkle do
pixie ambassador to the faeries.

This statement reminds me of the disconnect I experienced at my last SMS gathering--I didn't quite understand it, but there seems to be a tier of different kinds of circles among the Tennessee Faeries: there's "morning circle," which is basically a check-in, and "heart circle," which is called at a special time and place and has a set topic for discussion, à la "There's a Heart Circle scheduled for Tuesday after dinner to discuss the implications of having a landing strip where the logging camp stripped the neighboring 400 acres."

I was actually told in no uncertain terms that there's a definite difference between "circle" and "heart circle." I was *really* puzzled about this--granted, I'd been away five years, but *what* an evolution had developed in those years!

I thought that whenever a circle of loving companions came together, it was a heart circle.

I get tired of people declaring that Heart Circles should only be called on special occasions, or scheduled sparingly during gatherings. To my mind, HCs aren't distractions from gatherings--they're the *reason* for gatherings.

I think a lot of it has to do with the concentration of Faeries around the Sanctuary: they get used to the fellowship and forget that a lot of people are coming from the desert to visit the oasis. Sorry--mixed metaphors, but you get my drift...

Landing strip? Logging camp? Holy she-it! Next thing you'll say, there is a sky scraper being built up thar. (no, i ain't trying to manifest nothing!) (Okay, *the NEXT thing we'll find out, Greenpeace will move in in style, buy up that 400 hundred acres, and make the far end of the property a stop-over for the floating forest movement!!! Howz dat?!)

Damn, it's been way too long since i've been at the Mountain....

Btw, Khryss, to me there is a small difference between *main circle* and *heart circle* even tho there's truth that people are encouraged to speak from their heart; to me, tho, *main circle* is more about short announcements which then let folks get on with the rest of their days. Whereas HCs are a place to take the time we all need to speak!

      peace!

    keep me posted, hokay?

is this to be a separate thing, or something seeking to directly challenge nomenus?

Me, i'll be conservative about my dealings with Nomenus (i don't wish to judge the newly positioning, but treat them as i would like to be treated!). i think i can see why many faes act as they do towards other faes, even tho i don't always agree. i can also see why some of them act the way they do towards me!

For me the question is more about how to bridge than to destabilize. Or, how to create our own alternatives rather than try to petition (and etc) those who may never be able to hear (or see the value of) other truths. At least via such "Us v. Them" methods! Best, in my view, that "we" who feel wronged, get together amongst ourselves and create stuff which we can then bring back into the community as yet another clan amongst many in our greater tribes! And thereby help *build* in the larger vision of faedom, rather than try to tear down.

    Whattya thinque?

Widdershins, you are PDX fae? Wow! That's news to me. i look forward to meeting you sometime! (or do we know each other already?)
