Faire-spoken

moderated - created 07/20/08
Wouldst thou learn to “speak the speech” of Shakespeare’s players? Hast thou desire in thy breast to sharpen thy tongue afore Faire season is on us?
Or art thou but one who loveth our Queen’s English, and lacketh fit occasion to maintain thy facility?
Whosoever thou art - be thou performer, scholar or most nervous novice - I bid thee welcome to Faire-spoken. Our common goal here is simple enow: to better our command of Early Modern English, better known today as “Elizabethan” or “Shakespearean.” Some folk there are who do call it "BFA".
Our mother tongue it is, and we do love it.
