working with the weather

We have a monthly shamanic group here in Seattle, and at our last circle I did a journey and the question I asked was "what is it would be beneficial for us in our shamanic circle to learn in 2008?" I went immediately up to the upper world where I was placed in front of an advisory committee.
They shot off a list.
Number 1 on the list was about the Weather. The message i got was there is going to be erratic weather patterns in 2008. As earth stewards you are going to learn to work with the weather to protect your food sources, your plants and animals.
I've worked with intentionally with weather with perelandra methods and by feeling/being sunshine and sending that out into the universe. and that's about it. I would love to hear about your experiences, and I'll keep you all posted.

so, my question is, "how do we as Earth Stewards work with irratic weather patterns.

    Hi,
Can you be a little more specific about "erratic" weather patterns.
The Northwest traditionally has changing weather all the times so I am not sure
how to understand this. Thanks, Julie

by erratic I mean when the weather drops 60 degrees overnight as it did for some friends in Tennessee last year, and you lose a lot of your crops. Maybe I should have stated erratic weather....instead of weather "patterns". We're all hearing about unusual weather; how does this effect crops, our medicinal plants or food sources? so I mean stuff out of the ordinary.
and this is what came up as the #1 item on the list in my shamanic journey about what we (our shamanic circle) needed to learn in 2008. This surprised me. so I've asking people how they work with weather. some people say that they would never do this. and people have been doing rain dances for eons.
Went to Gregg Braden's presentation last night in Seattle. He brought up his experience with feeling prayer and a rain dance. After a long drought in New Mexico, a Native American friend of his did a "rain dance" in an area where this had been done by his people for eons. (this entailed going into a trance where he was rain, feeling rain, dancing rain, being rain) In a couple of days it started to rain. problem being that it rained so much that it flooded and cattle were stranded. When Gregg asked his friend about this, his friend responded that this is the part that his elders never got this part! (surprising answer)
I'll let you k now what I find out in my journies!

        Hi,
Thanks....well, sometimes I think we read too much into the phenomona of nature.
Because something happened it is bad or "a sign" So I think a shamanic journey can
help bring clarity and wisdom to what is happening. The extreme shift in weather had a purpose
because it happened. A middle world journey to the weather, or wind etc. could give good info about this.
I wrote a piece on "Healing Rain" It is on my website...here is the link. www.crowsdaughter.com/wise-wo...g%20rain

    Hiya Mr. Dragon!
an fyi, if you're ever interested in checking it out, is that astrology can be used fairly accurately to predict the weather. Two good websites are www.weathersage.com and theweatheralternative.blogspot.com The charts for solstices and equinoxes give you an overall sense of the season, then lunar phase charts give more detail. IT does give a good handle on when weather might change and how. Definitely make note of lunar phases, you'll often see changes in weather around then
