All about...BLUEBERRIES (fruit)

I got this from the Grow Organic! tribe and thought it could be useful.

Blueberries love acid soil. If azaleas grow well there, the blueberries probably will to. Full sun, and not too wet. You also need two different varieties in proximity to each other for cross pollinization. Also, before the fruit sets you'll want to cover with bird netting because they will eat your whole crop. They can reach 4-6 feet depending on the variety, and a good sized plant can produce up to 20lbs of fruit. The first year don't let them fruit, by removing flowers, so that they can get strong and healthy and put all their energy towards their roots. There are early, mid and late season varieties. For extended crop production you can plant 1 of each type or one of the early and one of the late. Don't worry, they can still cross pollinate each other. Two varieties that are good are "Patriot" and "Bluecrop"
