yesterday on may way to work i was rear ended by a truck going about 50. i was stopped at a red light. my new car is tottaled. ambulence and fire trucks on the scene. I spent about 6 hours in the ER doing x rays and katscans to see if there is any neorological damage. I have strained mscules throughout my neck upper and lower back and bruised vertibrea in my upper and lower back. i am out of the hospital and doing ok, i cant go back to work for about a week and i feel as if a mak10 has ran me over. pardon the pun. i feel veryy lucky to been able to walk away from the accident. i drove myself to the ER, refusing an ambulence and then just about toppled over inthe parking lot. the soreness yesterday is nothing compared to today, but again, it could have been worse. Aspen could have been in the car. The thought of that is far to much to bear. I have insurance andso does the other driver, so now it will just be a long drawn out process of paperwork and phonecalls and versions of what happened. I am having a hard time walking but there should be no long term damage...at least i hope none. all scheduled shows are continuingon as planned. i hope to see you all soon....hug the ones you love; you never know what is around the next corner....

wow. reality check in deed. There has been a lot
of unplanned events this year. Often we warn each other
to be careful, don't drink and drive, don't text and drive, etc....
but 'the other guy/gal' is out there too.
While we won't live our lives paranoid of destruction... it is important
to tell loved ones they are loved, pay attention to our peripherals, and
remember your CPR, safety skills, etc.
I am super sorry to hear that this happened to YOU, bud.
But super happy that i heard it from you.
Healing thoughts are around you.
soft virtual hugs,
b

Re: reality check
Fri, August 3, 2007 - 11:35 AMLife is Precious and can change in a split second,... lets hope the prognosis is indeed true that you will heal OK with no long term damage, make sure you ask the DR... many many questions to ensure they look at all potentials issues, health care is great until you have to use it (esp.. kaiser- beauraucratic BS)........ , I got my reality check about 6 weeks ago with a broken hip mountain biking.... one second everything is happy dandy, the next your on the ground in pain asking your self what the fuck happened....., makes you want to slow down and smell the roses and appreciate the healthy happy working body....
YES<<< I am GLAD GLAD GLAD THAT YOUR ALIVE....... GLIDE
