flax seeds
Sat, June 9, 2007 - 4:33 PMflax seeds are a great substitute, in any kind of baked goods, or as a binder, my mom has a great vegan pecan pie recipe using flax
you can use whole or ground, I think its about a 1/4 cup per egg to be replaced.
if using whole seeds mix flax seeds with warm water, about half and half, and let sit in a warm place for 15 min, untill is becomes gooey
if using ground just mix to a paste let sit for a min. and use
oh the whole seeds stay whole, and can be an unplesent texture in some applications, I prefer ground.
