There's something about these american, family activity holidays. There are times when the streets, bars and restaurants are almost deserted. Then you run into a fellow interloper. That's when the magic begins.

Fellow interloper? Do tell. Was it one of the female persuasion?

You had to ask? *snicker snicker*

Yes Sean, spill. You gonna make us work for this?

It was just a great date. A truly great date. Some of you may know that I'm about to move into a new apartment. I say about as I was supposed to close two days after returning from europe but it hasn't happened and they're projecting a closing date of Sept. 20th. I've moved out of my old apartment and have been living in a penthouse apartment next to my future home. This place is pretty sweet and has a rooftop deck with an awesome view of downtown Saint Paul, the capital building as well as the cathedral on the hill. Its truly beautiful. I mention all of this as it was key in setting off a sequence of events.

The music was afro-cuban, caribbean, neo-soul, etc.

I prepared dinner at the penthouse:

          2. www.epicurious.com/recipes/...iews/5874
          3. Sweet Plantain Mash (I can send NY Times recipe if anyone desires)

Two bottles of Mondavi Fume Blanc.

She arrived wearing something very nice. She instructed me to keep my eyes to myself as we walked up the stairs to the floor with the bedroom and rooftop deck.

We drank, I finished cooking, we drank, we ate, then went upstairs/outside. A few statements/sentiments were exchanged, there was some forearm stroking, an embrace then we returned downstairs/inside for more wine. We did some dancing which led some embraces and some really good wrestling.

This was a case of long-standing flirtation with each of us being involved with other people at the wrong time. We have recently found ourselves unentangled.

It was truly one of the best dates of my life and the best thing about it is that it wasn't intended to be that way. We were two people left with little to do on Labor Day and I sent her a SMS asking if she wanted to come over for dinner.
