I am considering not selling outside the US in the future. I have a customer in the United Kingdom who apparently didn't realize she would be charged customs duties on merchancise from outside her country. She has filed a claim on Paypal.

Re: Sales outside the US
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 1:03 PMI used to work for a mail order company and duties charged by foreign countries were not our responsibility, and we made language to that effect part of our online shipping policies to prevent things like this.
You should be able to file a counter claim or something with PayPal, as what the UK charges on imports is well beyond anything you have control over.,

Mon, July 27, 2009 - 12:11 AMI'm sorry that has happened to you Zanubia. I'm in Canada and the only source for me is the US. I fully expect to pay extra for shipping and customs charges in US funds. Must be a super pain in the you know what for you though.

PS: I'm loving the idea of that back wrap choli ;-)

Re: Sales outside the US
Fri, July 31, 2009 - 6:16 AMHi,
I am in the UK and have bought from you previously but I didn't get charged any extra customs - must have got lucky on both occasions! Horrified to think that you may not ship here in the future. Can you just put up a warning on your website instead stating folk from overseas are liable for their own customs charges? Would be sorry not to be able to buy from you again.

Fri, August 21, 2009 - 7:36 PMI have decided to continue to ship overseas but I am only going to ship International Priority Mail. I got too many complaints about how long International First Class was taking.
