Tribal Bible Update

Some of you know that I spent several months earlier this year getting "The Tribal Bible", authored by Kajira Djoumahna, reprinted and available after all of the original books were sold out (and then being auctioned off for hundreds of dollars). I spent a lot of time finding a printer who was affordable, could deliver a quality product, and prevent the previous problem of unavailability unless many thousands of dollars were available for printing in large quantities. At the end of July, I was down to my last box of books, so when I contacted the printer to order more (not the large quantity that was required for the initial printing), I could not believe that in only 5 short months everything had changed! They had undergone some sort of corp buyout/re-organization and I couldn't even get anyone to return my phone calls or emails for pretty much the whole month of August. I was devastated and disappointed beyond belief. I'm a book worm in the first place and a teacher at heart, so losing this unique and valuable resource bothers my heart to no end. Luckily, Kajira and Chuck still have books, so all is not lost.....yet. The good news (now that I've scared you to death *_*) is that I am relentless when it comes to matters of my heart and so with almost no hope at all, I made yet another phone call to the printer. OMG!! They actually answered the phone! On top of that, I think I was able to actually place an order. I won't say it is definite yet because it was all so scribble-something-on-a-napkin sounding, but I think there is hope. Of course, the clerk scared the be-jesus outta me when she asked me if I could re-upload the files!!!! Are you kidding me??? So while she asked me to please stop freaking out *_*, she said they could "probably" find the files, it would just take a day or two longer. Hopefully, I will have a new order processing sometime next week. I will call them again to see if it was just a joke or did they actually begin to get a print date for me. I will let you know when I do and until then, you can continue order the books, there will just be a slight delay.

Say a prayer or light a candle, couldn't hurt *_*

I'm so sorry to be writing this message, but I received my shipment of books today with pages out of order and the wrong directory. I have to destroy these books and work with the printer to make the corrections. I'm afraid that it will be a couple more weeks before I am able to successfully receive an acceptable book. I do believe I will get it worked out and I will get the books, I'm just not sure why I have to have these trials. I'm pretty bummed right now because the new owners are not as supportive as the previous ones and I have to "fix" the files and since I'm not the geek my husband is, I'm afraid I will screw it up. But, I'll just go slow and try to do what they ask. I am working as hard as I can to make sure that this book stays available for our community. I appreciate your understanding and support of this work.

      Thank you,

      Donna

P.S. Did you light your candle? *_*

I received a call from RapidPod this morning and they have received my files and the last copy of the book I had (which they requested so they could see what it is supposed to look like). So they are ready to print and they say the book "looks" correct now. But, if they print and it's not, they will not reprint corrections for me again, soooo would I like to see a proof? Ummmmm, let me think...........DUH! I really appreciate your patience, but a few more days will be worth it so I can make sure they have it right.

Hopefully have some good news at the end of the week.

Thank you for your sweet comments *_*

So I received the sample copy about the 5th and I'm sorry I just couldn't bring myself to post that it still was not correct. But, the good news is that after many phone calls and emails (I called them everyday the last week) I have finally received my order! The color has been corrected on the cover and they look great! All of the backorders have been shipped and I'm hoping that all of the "issues" have been resolved so that future orders will only require a phone call and a check.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement and support!! It is so important that we keep this valuable resource available to our community.

            Big hugs!!

            Donna

                  Hi,

Thanks for all your hard work re-printing this book, I was lucky enough to get one from you when you did your first re-print. I
have been trying to find a Tribal Bible for a friend to no avail and was wondering if there would be any more print runs?

                  Thanks

Donna sold Desert Dancer Imports to me a year ago. She moved to Kuwait and is no longer working on reprint of the Tribal Bible. Contact Kajira Djoumahna for information on the future reprinting of the Tribal Bible.
