In association with Chronicles Magazine, Ya Halla Y'all and Gilded Serpent we launch a new web site called The Future of Bellydance.com
which will in effect be a You Tube for new and up and coming bellydancers who want to make a full time career out of bellydance and just need to be discovered, helped and promoted to reach their dream. The BDSS organization receives many DVDs and Videos of performances that we never seem to be able to view due to travel and time constriants. We also know that we will miss a star or two at our auditions so we are excited to have a site that can concentrate and dedicate space to bellydancers and that the bellydance community and public can vote on and help us spot the best dancers. We are offering scholarships to winners we feel have a future that can be used to pay for lessons with a teacher in the winners home town plus free BDSS and Ya Halla Y'all workshops they wish to attend. The grand prize each year will be an all expenses trip to any one of our Raqs Bellydance events, Raqs Britianna in England, Raqs Italia in Italy, Raqs America in Washington D.C., Raqs L.A. in Los Angeles, Tribal London or Tribal L.A. There will also be smaller prizes of free CDs and DVDs etc. We will also have prizes for teachers whose student or students win scolarships. We encourage anyone who thinks they have what it takes or knows a dancer who does to upload a performance piece (approx 4 mins.) on thefutureofbellydance.com. We encourage all of you to go regularly to the site and vote on the dancer you think is best and help us find the Future stars of Bellydance
